That movie was terrific! Too bad it's involving two completely different characters. I don't mind if it does, but hopefully it has connections to the first one (and I mean in terms of characters or symbolic items that actually appeared in the first one). I hate sequels that are like... they aren't both of the same world, and they are completely different.

TBE was very good, though. Let's hope this one does just as well!

I watched most of this movie while flipping channels one night and really enjoyed it. I was blown away by the ending

What was the first one about? For some reason, even though I remember liking the movie, I can't remember what it was about.

It was about a kid who had blackouts as a teenager. The blackouts were normally before/during some juvenille crime that he or one of his friends committed. Anyway, 7 years later he goes back to reading his old journal entries of back when he had blackouts, and enough concentration led him to be able to travel back in time and redo what he had done wrong.

Basically, what ends up happening is when he relives one of the events that led to something horrible happening, he tried to fix it, which ended up leading to another disaster. He would try to go back in time and fix something else a few times, and yeah. I don't quite want to give much away for those that haven't seen it.

Yeah I have a feeling this sequel is going to be horrible, that said I'll go see it but after how good the first one was I wish they would've just ended it there.

True. I felt the same way about Saw, though... Saw II ended up making me want a trilogy all of the sudden.

Let's just hope that it's good. I doubt it's going to be one of the more worthy movies for a sequel, though.

Yep, DC was great. I was suprised at how much I liked this movie.

But agreed, no sequel needed.

I'm not sure if the one that I saw was the director's cut... can you (with a spoiler tag) write out the ending for me so that I can see which one I saw?

I've seen it on Encore, so I'm just not sure which one they broadcast.

Yes! I can't wait for another movie where I can see all of this in a matter of two hours:
Pre-teens beating/killing each other with blunt objects
Lighting dogs on fire
Child molestation
Drug use
Suicide attempts
Blowing up of infants with explosives

The first Butterfly Effect was horrible... I don't see how anyone can fall for such obvious shock factors and make it out to be a deep and thought-provoking movie. All it was was Ashton Kutcher trying to be "edgy".

Awful. Atrocious.

This movie needs a sequel the same way Shawn Kemp needs another child. It doesn't.
