Exactly what I was about to say. Anyways, whats wrong with ppl having some sort of enjoyment out of figuring out a movie. Thats what movies are made for. As for me, I needed to ask a few questions after it ended. Consider me slow. I like these type of movies. The ones where its hard to understand at first but the second time, you're like "Ooohhh, I get it now".

This is stupid, I can't believe I'm debating about this movie. There's nothing to debate about. I'm done.

          Re: The Butterfly Effect 2

I just finished watching Butterfly Effect for the first time. Like everybody else, I was skeptical of the movie simply because Ashton Kutcher was the leading role, which kept me from watching the movie since it was released.

Anyways, I thought it was a pretty straight forward movie, but I thought it did a good job dealing with the entire time-travel complex. I enjoyed it. Nothing groundbreaking, just a good entertaining movie.

The Butterfly Effect 2 is a straight to DVD film. It comes out October 10th and the only extras are a directors commentary and a behind the scenes feature.

I usually pass on straight to DVD films but since I really enjoyed the first one, I'll give this sequel a shot.

Straight to DVD? Eh...I don't think so.

I kind of really liked the "butterfly effect" and the "chaos theory" aspect of the original Butterfly Effect movie above other reasons. So this movie that bombed sounded interesting to me but I could not find "Delicate Sound of Thunder" as a DVD except as a Pink Floyd LIVE DVD. Was the movie you thinking about "A Sound of Thunder" directed by Peter Hymas or were you thinking of even a different movie?

Thanks for any help to clear up my confusion.

AKA someone tried to make a pilot to turn the movie into a weekly TV show and it wasn't picked up, in an effort to cut losses they put it out on DVD and hope idiots rent or even buy it.

At least this was the pattern for Cruel Intentions II and Skulls II, and I would be willing to bet it is the same for this movie. That being said, the premise for a TV show would've been interesting, but very difficult to execute unless it was on HBO or Showtime, maybe FX.

Didn't really like the first one. Far and away the best movie Kutcher's done (Guess Who is the only movie I've ever walked out on), but I still didn't think it was that great. After working at Blockbuster for a while a few years back and watching a ton of movies, a lot of these movies that shoot the suspense/thriller/thinking angle become a little boring, and often easy to predict.

I agree the sequel would be pretty unnecessary.

                      Re: The Butterfly Effect 2

I found The Butterfly Effect to be a darker film than The Butterfly Effect 2. The storyline is pretty similar although there’s a completely new cast. The acting was fine but I felt like the alternative realities were lacking an edge. In The Butterfly Effect you see Amy Smart as a strung out drug addict and in this film you only see Erica Durance as a fashion photographer. Frankly this was a sequel that didn’t even need to be made.

                      Final Grade: C+

I’m mesmorized by how pretty Erica Durance is. This is my favourite shot of the whole film.

                      You’re welcome!

Agreed! Erica Durance is one of the hottest chicks on TV right now. I want to see this movie just for that scene.

I just saw this movie... trust me, it's not worth it. A complete waste of 2 hours. The first one was interesting. This one was a bore.

Erica Durance is one hot woman. I just finished watching this movie today and it's not that as bad as everyone made it out to be. I just hope they don't make anymore of these though, it's always the same type of movie over and over.

I've watched that one specific scene a couple times now
My friend has seen her in person, and he said she's flawless.

Durance went on the Howard Stern show recently to plug BE:2 but she left the studio in tears. Stern kept on grilling her on her nude house gatherings.
