I think AJ might take out his dad. Tony always blamed his mom, and looked up to his dad, but following Johnny into his line of work caused all the depression and panic attacks. As much as we all hate Phil, he nailed it.
The Sopranos will make anybody. The two made guys were a young, punkish, drug-addicted loudmouth and a gay guy (not tolerated in the mob). They don't do the traditional rituals associated with Italian organized crime. They couldn't even carry out a hit on Phil without "outsourcing" the job.
The Sopranos, like Phil said, are nothing more than a "glorified crew".
I think Paulie takes out Tony and joins the New York family. Paulie's always been bothered by how unlike the old days the Sopranos have become. He felt passed over, and he longed for the days of Junior and Tony's dad.
I can also see a scenario where Tony arranges to get caught by the feds to avoid all of this and do some time while it cools out.Comment

I thought about that possibility, but is there enough time for that in one episode? Plus...with Tony in jail, I would think it would be quite easy for Phil and the New York crew to still order a hit on him while in prison.Comment

I feel like Agent Harris still has a big role in this thing. Chase has just been laying out way too much with Harris since the beginning, but Harris hasn't been as aggressive with Tony the last few seasons. It's like Harris is almost trying to get Tony to spill the beans but he has taken a different approach with Tony.
If I were a betting man, my money is still on Lil Carmine getting involved somehow after all the pieces have fallen. That is the perfect opportunity for him as one or both sides will be in a weak state and it will be slim pickings for him to resume where his father left off from.

I think you're the most correct. How can the title character of a show killed off without any kind of a twist. All the foreshadowing leads to Tony getting blown away, but that is too easy to do. Tony is definitely going to survive.Comment

I hope it's not meant to wrap everything up. While HBO has let big things leak for this show, maybe there will be a surprise announcement for a movie or spin-off.

No way Paulie turns on Tony. Remember when he was feeding information to Johnny Sac and Sac always told him how high Carmine felt off him? Than finally when Paulie ran into Carmine, Carmine didn't even know who he was. I think after that episode any thoughts Paulie had about going to NY were gone. Especially when he murdered that old lady (Cookie?) in the same episode and gave Tony some if not most of the money.Comment
