Re: Sopranos Season 6 **Warning for finale spoilers**

I'm not surprised by this ending because Chase has said all along that everyone who hoped Tony would "get his" might be disappointed because he wanted the show to be realistic in a sense that not all the bad guys "get theirs".

With that being said in my mind the way that it ended for me was to have Tony get hit right as Meadow sees him look at her. That would also explain all her backing up and stuff, to delay her entrance and time it just right.

My problem with this episode was AJ's amount of screen time-it definitely bogged the finale down a bit.
That ending wasn't the greatest ending I have ever seen, but when I look at all 6 seasons and knowing that I have received good entertainments over the last 8 years I'm not going to complain.

This ending reminds me very much so of another favorite of mine, but that show was abruptly cancelled during Season 5 not allowing Joss Whedon to finish it up properly. That ending was also open ended where we were left Angel and his remaining team to battle the Senior Partners army of demons.

That's why it cut away early. Tony got shot. That's my ending to it anyways.
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that he got shot.

The show was always about family...that's the point Chase and Gandolfini always seemed intent on making in interviews. If you look at that way, the ending did tie up a few things. AJ now has purpose and seems "back to normal." Meadow is setting up for a nice life, doing what she wants to. Carmella seems to want back into the real estate stuff. They all wound up out to dinner...together. As opposed to anger and frustration driving them apart.

Even Paulie acquiesced and hung in there for Tony (for now). Sil? That's one end I do wish they tied up. The cat and Christopher...very weird stuff.

In Chase's mind, maybe everything else was superfluous...but I think it was a bit of a copout which leaves open the door for follow-on movies or an occasional HBO show or mini-series. It always comes down to the $$$...

My friend was just trying to tell me that. That's stupid though. He didn't even look at the guy or move or anything. I think the ending is that he doesn't care he's going to jail. He doesn't care because his family is ok, Phil's dead, he saw Silvio, and he talked to Junior.

I caught 2 episodes earlier this year, the one in Vegas and the one before it. Seriously, it felt like I hadn't missed a single thing, nothing seemed to really have moved on with this show. That was my problem with it, just took too long to get anywhere, and for me, for a show with this much of a following, they should give it a nice bow. Not speculation of a movie upcoming to wrap it up, that's just a cop out to me.
aren't you a fan os "Lost" though? That's a show that had dragged on forever. Get of the freaking island already.

Well it's a great example of having to watch a series to get an ending. We didn't hear a gunshot because it was talked about in last weeks episode. It's a nice way to treat fans to an ending.

I gave up on Lost this year though, when show's don't move, I give up, it's gotta keep me interested. I watched the finale for Lost and it did hook me back in, but for me it was a rough season.

Few shows hook me and keep me hooked. The Shield, Rescue Me, Prison Break are a few of the shows that keep me entertained week in and week out.

was i the only 1 sitting there like who the hell is carlos?

on a side note although i was just as tense as the rest of you guys, i couldnt see tony being killed there. if paulie showed up then yeah , by the way he was acting. but the dude at the counter, the guy in the hat,etc it wouldnt make any sense since phil was dead. the fed idea does make sense but i wasnt thinking that way at the time.
i was also thinkiing meadow might get hit by a car or something, etc strange sequesnce if u ask me.

the thing that bothers me is that although things were left wide open, pauilie, sil alive or dead, the pending court case, the strange relationship with the fed, aj being crazy, the actors in the show, gandolfini to be precise doesnt apper they would be interested in a movie or doing the sopranos anymore.

money talks but it appears everyone is content with the show ending and kind of just went their own way, etc. idk but i feel somewhat ripped off but at the same time, the show did entertain me for a long time.

I think that you nailed it on the head here and it would be great if HBO and Chase were to get together here in a year or two for a possible mini-series. At first I freaked out because my screen went black and I thought I missed the ending. I was so pissed, then there was silence during the credits so I thought that something happened. LOL!

I think this show did wrap up many things and I wish that Tony would have been the one to take out Phil instead. It would have topped the episode off for me, but that is ok.

I look at this finale as it was about the family being together and going back to the first episode of the series, I bet you can find many things that were similar.

How about a 6 or 7 episode mini-series of Tony on trial? These things are possible for the right money.

Obviously it's interprative, but I agree about the reference to Bobby telling Tony that when you get hit, you don't feel or hear anything.

Perhaps Chase's intent was to put the viewer in the first person as if they were being killed.

                                Just abrupt blackness...
