I guess I'll have to look at this ending as a 6 season wild ride that ends with something that is open ended. Why? I think that HBO will get Chase to do a movie or even a special TV like movie on HBO for this.

But those last few minutes were itense non the least. Especially that it took Carmella so long to get there. Chase built up the suspense really well at the end.

The last scene was very tense. I guess due to thinking that something bad was going to happen, I am left wondering WTF. I've also never seen this many people in this forum.

Well EG, you missed a great three seasons, and this show has delivered for me in spades week in and week out. What was so bad about the ending, the fact Tony DIDN'T get killed? Just because everything wasn't wrapped up in a pretty little bow, doesn't mean it was a bad episode. My problem with this episode was AJ's amount of screen time-it definitely bogged the finale down a bit.

Eights, I recommend renting the first season to see what this show is about bro. Trying to watch the finale of a show that has been on for 6 seasons (technically 7 if you don't count S6 as Part 1 and 2) and hoping to get an understanding you are cheating yourself.

I'm just glad the last song they played in the series was so badass. I fell in love with some of those Journey songs when I started watching Scrubs.

I always think of Scrubs now when I hear any of their songs. However, in the final scenes of this show, it added a lot of suspense. Just the way the song flows and how things were evolving in the show; brilliance.

I caught 2 episodes earlier this year, the one in Vegas and the one before it. Seriously, it felt like I hadn't missed a single thing, nothing seemed to really have moved on with this show. That was my problem with it, just took too long to get anywhere, and for me, for a show with this much of a following, they should give it a nice bow. Not speculation of a movie upcoming to wrap it up, that's just a cop out to me.

Say they have a movie in 3 years, and Tony dies at the end from retaliation, does this series finale then taste bad?

Just giving my opinion on it, if I was a big Sopranos fan, I would be very disappointed that it didn't "end". And no, Tony didn't have to die, but it needed an ending to me. Maybe it's just me, I'm glad you enjoyed it, TJ enjoyed it and Candyman seemed to enjoy it, that's all that really matters. I know I've loved finales of shows that everyone else was disappointed with like Heroes this year or this year's Shield's finale.

That song and all the family coming in one at a time really made them look somewhat normal though, like the old days. I did like that aspect.

Stupid Capitals. New year same story. 3-1 lead goes bye bye. Oh well!

Yeah, I definitely need to. I had no idea what was going on in the finale. I knew who some of the people were, but was basically clueless the entire time.

This is what you had to expect from David Chase. He likes keeping things unsettled, unfinished, and thought provoking. We all expected some sort of finish but Chase left the show unfinished.

I doubt it, it'll probably just lead into the movie in a year or two.
the open ending is a copout, but is a way to get people to keep thinking about it. Viewers will make up their own endings with what was given. I think Tony got shot, since in the last episode, he had that flashback talking with Bobby on the boat. They were talking about getting shot and how you don't even feel it. That's why it cut away early. Tony got shot. That's my ending to it anyways.

I thought it was a nice way to go out.
