Re: Sopranos Season 6 **Warning for finale spoilers**
Really loved the last episode. A lot of powerful moments . I like how Chase closed each character's storyline but did not feel the need to have some "big" ending that would have felt manipulative with this being the last episode.
Personally I thought the ending was great. My heart was pounding, like no other show has ever made me feel, for the entire duration of "Don't Stop Believin'." The story of the Sopranos will go on but our experiences with them is ending. Very reminiscent of Godfather Part II where Michael is sitting alone contemplating all that has happened and will happen in his life.
The ending was open ended but not in a sequel sense. I just do not see a movie being made. All the creative forces behind this show seem to want to move on to different projects. Also I do not believe Tony was going to be whacked at the end, all of that stuff was just to build tension. The New York feud is settled and the New Jersey family is happy, who would want to whack a boss and start a war? It would not make sense. The big trouble that Tony will face is a court trial, which will be tough to beat with Carlos flipping. I do not see the Sopranos story continuing in any way. The only thing I would not mind seeing would be a look back to the days Tony was young and running around with Silvio and Jackie Apriel and Jonny Boy and Uncle Junior were running the New Jersey crew.
I'm happy the finale was so well crafted and fit in with the past Soprano episodes. But I'm also sad to see a show, that is my favorite piece of art ever made, end...
I feel u on this point. Chase made me feel the paranoia of being Tony Soprano. Great ending. Too smart for the masses. The Bright One is my Point of Reference, It's my Guide And it always becomes The Center of my Chart. I Always name it Dionne. It's my Constant.Comment

Re: Sopranos Season 6 **Warning for finale spoilers**
I found this theory over at theChaseLoung.net and it kinda makes sense.
First Episode this season Bobby and Tony are on the boat and Bobby goes, "You probably don't even hear it coming." or something along those lines.
Second to last episode, Tony is laying in bed and we re-hear Bobby say those lines again, "You probably don't even hear it coming."
Now, this last episode Tony is eating a orange, and the cat is orange. Godfather references maybe? Keep this in mind while I speculate:
Meadow is trying to park. It takes three times to be able to do so.
That guy walks into the bathroom who Chase keep flipping to, could it be to retrieve a planted gun Ala Godfather one?
Let's put this all together..
Bobby says, "You don't even see it coming." ... The black screen as Tony get's wacked.
Meadow's parking attempts represent the first two failed attempts on Tony's life (Season One, and Uncle Juniors Gunshot) With her third try succeeding.. Which means, so did this attempt (the black screen) .. Couple this with the orange he was eating, and the orange cat that he wanted to keep.
I don't know. I guess I'm just trying to find closure also. Chase really did screw up with this, as to me it invalidated the entire show. Unless of course, he's planning on including all the other ending in the Season CD.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 06-10-2007, 11:53 PM.Comment

Back on topic... What's this about a Sopranos movie? I don't watch the show much so I'm not up to date on the big happenings.http://flotn.blogspot.com

I've seen this episode twice tonight, once by myself as my wife was running some errands and then when she got home we watched together. I keep on thinking that Tony's journey ended right there at the restaurant with the guy coming out of the washroom GODFATHER MICHAEL CORLEONE style.
i watched it again also and the second time it is clear to me that none of those people in the diner were hitmen. They were just trying to build tension in the scene as well as showing that Tony has to always be looking over his shoulder and not know when and from whom "it" is going to come from. He has to live like that constantly and it must be a miserable existence.
Also, in that scene they were showing what a melting pot America is and that is what the country is all about ("Made in America"). Watch it again and see all of the different kinds of people in the diner (diner represents America)..and its also interesting the stereotypes we make of the folks in the diner. The writers turned everyone's stereotypes against us to build tension in that scene.Last edited by ZB9; 06-11-2007, 12:07 AM.Comment

Do I win something for saying the exact same thing on the last page?

I guess you get no prize today.
the reason Michael Corleone had to get the gun from the bathroom is because he was going to be frisked. The guy in the diner tonight wasnt going to be frisked and there would be no reason to plant a gun in the bathroom. Besides, how would anyone know the Sopranos were going to eat at that diner and have time to plant a gun there?

I threw in the Godfather reference here as it has been made a few times during the series. Why not hide the gun in the washroom? He can cap Tony from behind/side and make an easier run then having his back turned to the door while attempting a hit. Maybe the dude was following them or was tipped off that they were at the diner.
I just want to know what was up with that cat and staring at Christopher's picture.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 06-11-2007, 12:10 AM.Comment

Re: Sopranos Season 6 **Warning for finale spoilers**
Ok so we can forget about going to the bathroom to get the gun because that is unnecessary.
And as ZB9 said none of the people in there were hitman. Their actions didn't represent it.
I just hope when season 6 part II hits DVD the extra endings will be on there. That would be very interesting!Comment

Also, the Journey tab has "Don't Stop Believing" and "Any Way You Want It" and I'm looking at the song "Any Way You Want It". I think that Chase is telling us that the ending is up to your perception and what you want it to be with all the intensity that I have built based off of the atmosphere that he just setup.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 06-11-2007, 12:28 AM.Comment

Re: Sopranos Season 6 **Warning for finale spoilers**
Going back to Agent Harris, I got the impression that he was happy that Phil got whacked. He likes Tony and since he helped Tony get Phil he felt like he was part of it. That explains the "We got him" quote.
Harris knew that if he told Tony where Phil was, Tony would take him out. There is no way Harris would try and set up Tony in that way because the FBI would never promote murder even of a criminal like Phil. That's why it has to be that Harris wanted to help Tony out independently.Comment

I still am really unsure about the cat. I know someone mentioned it was Adrianna in joking but wasn't her hair reddish blonde? I don't know, i am trying to find some meaning in the cat and Harris sleeping with the chick. Wasn't she the chick that Adrianna used to talk to in the car?Comment

As I said, the more I think about the ending the better it seems. At first when I saw it I felt like I was hit with a steel chair. LOLComment
