So when did it become cool to curse.....

around your girlfriend's/wife's parents? So the tv is currently on MTV with this "Parental Control" show on and the kid of the parents are cursing and the kid's girlfriend/boyfriend is cursing. I'm almost 30 and I still won't curse in front of my parents. What happened to showing a bit of respect? I'm sure MTV told them to spice it up, but then again, I've seen instances where the child curses the parent out and it just was not like that when i was growing up.

Yeah, my sister cursed around my parents too, so they don't care if I curse pretty much. However, I never curse around other parents, I'm always super polite around other parents.

Oh yeah...other parents it's a no-no. I'll curse at other people's houses, but if their parents are in the same room or the room right next to where we all, I'll censor myself.

I'm the same as you. I don't curse in front of my parent's at all. Nor do I in front of my sister and her family or my girlfriend's family.

I've never cursed in front of my parents in my entire life... and the only time I do it is in interjection form. I'll never use it in a verb part of speech, that's for sure.

People now are more disrespectfull towards others than ever before. Gen X especially. No respect whatsoever.

Well, i'm Generation X. Gen X is turning 30 or already in their 30's. I don't know what this current "cursing around your parents" generation is called.

This is exactly the reason I don't like this rap and MTV garbage. They've brainwashed kids... they really have. They have to start listening to music that does not portray emotion like that.

I'm 31 and never considered myself generation X. Generation X is 4 years younger. In any event, people are more ignorant, rude, and disrespectfull to one another now more than ever.

And I agree about MTV. It's an absolute disgrace.

well, I never considered myself gen x either but we definitely fit the demographic. We were gen x when I was in jr. high and high school. I just have never heard them put a label on this new generation, no baby boomers, no gen x. I guess they're just "generation disrespectful".
