I recommend seeing "Rules of Attraction" as well, as it's about Patrick's younger brother.

Man, what a great movie. I just saw this on HBO tonight. I love the dark humor and Christian Bale is excellent.
Damn great flick.
Patrick: "Ask me a question."
Hot Blonde: "What do you do for a living?"
Patrick: "I'm into murder and executions"

Re: American Psycho (2000) WARNING SPOILER
No he did not just imagine that he killed those people, he really did murder them all. The ending just presented it in such a way that the audience derived that. The whole issue wasn't that he didn't actually kill them, it was that no one really cared enough about the fact that he did it, or actually wanted to take the time to consider that he did because they were too self-involved, so that he questioned in his mind if any of it was real. However it was supposed to be clear that he did kill them.
How do I know this? I read several interviews with the writer of the book who said that the whole "he didn't murder anyone at all" perspective is one of the most infuriating misconceptions about the entire tale.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: American Psycho (2000) WARNING SPOILER
^^Exactly. I've only read about half of the book (I always get busy when I start to read it), but you can tell it focuses on the self-involved and loss of the individual identity of the business world in the 80s. The movie definitely reflects that, as everybody buys the same clothes, goes to the same barber and the loss of individual identity is shown when the characters confuse one with another. There's no doubt in my mind Bateman killed those people.

Like someone else said, it's meant to be a dark comedy, and it's really a hilarious movie imoComment

Re: American Psycho (2000) WARNING SPOILER
Either Bateman killed someone else or the guy had dinner with someone else. That was kind of the point of the movie, they were all interchangeable "plastic" people.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
