    fans of underground rap?

Noticed the concerts thread mostly dealt with that pop punk crap that MTV's currently shoving down our throats and saw some fellow hip hop fans like myself. I just thought it would be nice to create a thread where we could discuss hip hop and trade names of bands/artists with each other because I'm always in the mood to hear new people. Not to mention most of friends don't like what I listen to, so I never get to talk about my favorite music. Anyway, I'm currently enthralled by the following:

Felt 2, Maroons, newest Atmosphere, Gift of Gab, and Zion I.

Favorites include: Blackalicious, The Roots (if you consider them underground anymore), Talib, Deltron, People Under the Stairs, Hieroglyphics, Lyrics Born....I could go on forever.

little brother -semi-underground , theyre on a major label but still are pretty unknown...mos def and talib kweli arent underground .,

        murs
royce da 5'9 (hes now considered underground)
        zion i
        hiero
        cunninglynguist
        buckshot
        pumpkinhead
        atmosphere
        masta ace
        supastition
        the time machine
        tonedeff
        etc etc

those are some of the underground cats i enjoy , i listen to everything though , im far from a backpacker.

my favorites would have to be

murs , little brother and masta ace.
And with the third pick - I made the earth sick

I really like Murs Day, but it just doesn't capture the same feelings as 3:16. I think it's because he's less serious on this album, less introspective...

I have way too many favorite underground and semi-underground artists/groups. I'll try to list most of them:
Zion-I, Little Brother and the Justus League, Murs, Royce Da 5'9, Heiruspecs, Gym Class Heroes, Supastition, Blackalicious, Blueprint, Brother Ali, Cunninlynguists, Dangermouse and Jemini, Immortal Technique, Kaze, Pharoahe Monch, Soul Position, Greenhouse Effect, Verbal Seed, The Strange Fruit Project, Skyzoo, Jahi, Pete Philly and Perquisite, Blue Scholars, Common Market, Dave Ghetto, Soulstice, Lupe Fiasco, Akrobatik, Athletic Mic League, Earatik Statik, Shells, and I'm sure there's more.

I recently saw Little Brother and Fort Minor perform in Providence.

And just last week I saw Common in New York. Flowetry opened up and they did very well.

Great shows. The both of them.
