Noooooo. Dead prez is great, although they do believe in a lot of conspiracies. They should join up with Immortal Technique and make a conspiracy tour.

        Reasons why I like Doom...

-He throws away what a rap song SHOULD sound like and he expands the boundaries of the genre
        -He's a very good storyteller
        -Very creative
        -Nothing he does sounds forced

I'm not blown away by his beats, and to me, thats the most overrated part about him. All he does is take a classic song, loop it, and throw some drums on there.

Mmm..Food is a great album, along with Vaudeville Villain (Viktor Vaughn) and the Madvillainy CD is just a CLASSIC.

Plus, it's hard to say he's overrated when the majority of the people here don't like him. Either people REALLY like him or REALLLLLLLY hate him.
hes has a very strong following but as far as the most overrated underground emcee? i dont believe so .

that would have to go to immortal technique(though i do enjoy his music)

        whats wrong with immortal technique.?
he can write good lyrics but
        -his flow is average
his breath control might be the worst in the industry and is so damn annoying
        -he raps off beat
-alot of his songs have zero replay value(dance with the devil )
        -ever heard him freestyle?

whats wrong with doom?(im repeating myself)
        -horrible flow
        -horrible voice
-can write good rhymes sometimes but also says alot of off the wall ish(nonsense)
And with the third pick - I made the earth sick

yeah i know hes won plenty underground battles , but ive also heard him spit garbage on alot of freestyles....(maybe i just havent heard his good battles)

yes (dance with the devil is one of the best storys ever) but i cant listen to it anymore -i heard it once , than tried to do it again and it was really stale. same with that song(forgot whats its called) its a story about some chick he loved .

with that being said , i really do enjoy his music and would call myself an it fan but i still feel hes really overrated.

Actually a lot of his stuff does sound forced. It sounds like he's just being weird for the sake of being weird and his annoying ***, monotone voice doesn't make things much better. Add to that the fact that he has almost no flow to speak of and it's pretty easy to see why people don't like him. For some reason a lot of underground fans like him and that's why I call him overrated.

Doom is a big fan of the Marvel Universe, so to me, I view him as a few different unique comic book characters in and of himself.

I am a marvel fan too but that doesn't change anything about him. I guess I'll just never get his appeal, even though i do like a couple of his songs but those songs are mostly just good beats.

I'm prolly the biggest doom groupie out there, but he's a more overrated MC then he is a producer. I agree tho, his style is different and that's what makes it unique. I actually like the fact that's not bound by 16 bars; but I wouldn't call him a wack MC by any means. I'd recommend listening to his special herbs collection if you're not really impressed with his production. The last two installments, 7+8 and 9+0 are dope.

I thought 7 and 8 were his worst, though not horrible. 9+0 though, that's a different story. The 9+0 joint is real nice.

Yep, I have the whole collection...surprised you didn't like 7+8. Buckeyes is my favourite doom instrumental along with Devil's Shoestring.

No I like 7+8, it's just his worst one. From that album I like High John, Mandrake and Licorice.

My favorites out of all of the albums are:
                              Jasmine Blossoms (5 and 6)
                              Burdock Root (9 and 0)
                              Arrow Root (1 and 2)
                              Dragon's Blood (5 and 6)
