                Artist: AZ
                Album: The Memphis Sessions
                "THE REMIXTAPE"

It's a solid idea, and worth a listen through at least once, but if you are looking for typical AZ greatness here, you won't find it. Of course, every song is just a remix. He actually picks a lot of his best songs that he's recently layed down, but the Memphis-Blues-flavor instrumentals are not very enticing. The best song on the album more closely resembles a trip to the rollerama than it does being in the heart of Tennessee.

The lyrics were good... the new beats are not. Buy A.W.O.L.. Buy The Format. Listen to the originals. Download the song below and call it a day.

Graduated from the Underground to Mainstream...

                    Artist: UGK
                    Album: Underground Kingz
Producers: Below; Pimp C; DJ B-Doe; Jazze Pha; John Bido; Yung Fyngas; Joe Traxx; Juicy J; DJ Paul; Lil Jon; Marley Marl; N.O. Joe; Joe Scorsese; The Runners; Scarface; Randy "Big Tyme" Jefferson & MORE

When I get in one of my south flavor moods, UGK's Underground Kingz is a good direction to look to. There are so many tracks on this 2-disc that you will find a large collection of good songs off this album. "International Players Anthem" has been the biggest hit of the Fall in all of hip-hop and I can't disagree with it. The song is pretty flawless, and if you think that's great and you have a love for chopped and screwed material, you should check the chopped and screwed bonus track. It's pretty amazing.

Pimp C is a much better producer than he is a rapper in my honest opinion, but it really doesn't matter all too much when Bun B is also rockin' the mic by his side. Bun B is one of the most talented MC's out there so this album is definetely worth a pickup. Well, looks like people listened. #1 on the Billboard 200. Have fun wit it.

Old School rap is just definetely not for me, but for anyone who appreciates and enjoys good old-school... this is for you. That's all I can really say. These lost tracks showcase some great names and Masta Ace's appearance is my favorite considering his story-telling hasn't deviated at all. If you don't like Old-school, download it just to have it. For a few of these artists it was recording sessions like these that honed their craft for the later years when we started to recognize them. For some of the other artists, this was the golden years, and they recorded at Top Shelf.

The backstory is a lie according to a lot of people. The CD is still nice though.

I know he is far from underground, but Jay-Z is dropping a new one November 6. Hopefully he goes back to the Reasonable Doubt/Blueprint style with this one.
Jay-Z is set to release his second album in less than a year. A "concept" album inspired by the upcoming film 'American Gangster.'

LOL, good point. I also forgot to post this. Saigon decked Prodigy at his own show and it's on tape.
Before being chased out of the club by over 20 dudes, Saigon snuffs Prodigy on stage at his own show.

I can't see it cause I'm at work but maybe somebody and describe the action.
