thanks for the heads up. I had no idea they had new album coming out, I've been so out of the loop.

I have listened to it for only about fifteen minutes, but I'm not really feeling it just yet. I like a couple out of the box, but others are going to take some getting used to. I'm not sure if I like some of the production.

arrrggg... I don't know what yall are thinking...

This album is spectacular to say the least. The quality matched up with his last 2 full-lengths (Sweet Lord & Murray's Revenge). He has evolved from an emo rapper into a madman that is truly "different than any other west coast rapper." I cannnnnottt wait till he comes to Denton in November! Murs is easily one of my top 5-10 favorite rappers.

For this year he's up there with Elzhi and Torae, easily.

I like Murs for President for a few tracks, but I'm still not sold on it. Maybe I need to hear it a few more time, but I just don't see it as being on my short list for album of the year.

lol i hear ya man... I love his evolution tho especially.

I still have to go with Elzhi as the best of 2008 tho. It's too hard to go against that. Murs was my pick in 2006 tho.

My third favorite producer of all time, the Large Professor, has dropped a new album titled Main Source, and it's bangin'! That name should be very familiar to long-time fans and followers of the Extra P, as it is the name of the group he started off with before going solo. (Remember the classic Breaking Atoms?)

This is not to be confused with the two instrumental joints he dropped in '06 and '07 -- Beatz, Vols. 1 & 2... even though I think these albums are worth owning as well.

I love this as well. Great flavor of hip-hop from start to finish. Large Professor still has skills, so where the factor of longevity has broken down others, LP's evolution has endured during the process. He's always droppin great **** even on appearances.

I concur. I know that the whole point of Murs going to WB was to be a different kind of mainstream rapper, but I didn't think most of the beats would sound so different than his previous stuff. Sure, no one should be in a box, but I love the production of his earlier stuff so much more than what is on this one. The only two songs on this album I love from first listen are "I'm Innocent" and "Can It Be" and both of those have the old-school, soulful production that I love so much.

I was hunting for D.I.R.T., but everyone I checked with didn't have it in yet. Everyone told me to come back and see if they have it by the end of the week. I said 'F that' and ordered it online.
