    Re: Our Lady Peace

    I've got a semi-related question...

Do OLP fans hold it against Raine for working on Avril's Under My Skin like Butch Walker's fan still tend to do? I mean, she has ended up giving Butch the world at his footsteps via exposure and tours, but there are still fans who are bitter that he worked with Lavigne. How are Our Lady Peace fans with it?

Also, didn't know he was married to Chantal Kreviazuk, which apparently he has been for some time now. Learn something new everyday. Guess that's what I get for never really getting into OLP that much.

No, sorry man. Most of them are very limited. The ones I have are a few years old, maybe on Ebay they could be found. Two of them are from Austrailia. Couple from Canada, and one from Japan.

I never have. Raine basically helped Avril land her job. I've never read of anyone else holding it against him. Hell, Raine wrote a song on Kelly Clarkson's new album and most fans were thrilled about it. So the short answer, no.

Yeah, they've been married for 8 years I think. They have 1 kid, maybe 2, but pretty sure only one, been a long day of watching basketball so I could be wrong..LOL

EDIT - in one of Avril's videos she's holding a baby, and that baby is Raine and Chantal's as an FYI. Avril is very close with the Maida's...

Anytime, I consider myself the resident OS OLP fan, so anytime anyone wants to discuss them, I'm there! LOL

That's good to hear. I hate when fans are too shallow to realize that an artist is greatly helping themselves out by doing something for a pop star like Avril. Not to mention Raine and Butch combined to help her put out an album that was quite enjoyable, at least in my opinion. It's also really good that she sees what the two have done to further her career and make her at least a somewhat legitimate artist and has repaid both of them in a big way.

And working with Clarkson? Butch should be so lucky. Thanks to his connections through Avril, he produced a couple tracks on Lohan's latest CD. Needless to say, there were fans who had a near panic attack when that news dropped. It's depressing to see fans be so stubborn.

Totally agree. Branching out is what makes the smart musicians famous. I always felt it was like when I saw OLP years ago and there was like 14 people in the crowd. They were my band, now they are popular. Same with Butch Walker, at one time, he was just known by a few people, but his work with Avril, Lohan, Tommy Lee, etc and so on has brought him to a national scale.

In the long run, and I'm not ripping Green Day here, ok, I am, but it's not selling out like Green Day has with American Idiot.

Thoughts on Birds of Pray? I gotta be honest, I think it was their weakest effort to date. And that's saying a lot, because I didn't think V was as good as I anticipated it being. Everything prior though -- from Mental Jewelry through The Distance To Here, even the Public Affection album -- was just brilliant.

I still adore Throwing Copper, only because it reminds me so much of high school.

Copper was during my high school years also.

I liked Secret Samadhi even though many didn't care for it.
