    bumpity bump bump

Thanks to pre-orders being shipped out early I've already heard their new album Curve in full and let me just say it blows their last few albums completely out of the water.

Very solid effort. Where's our resident OLP OS fan, surprised Mr. Extreme didn't post in here yet about the new album. This slipped a bit off my radar, thanks for posting this here.

I have been a huge OLP fan since Clumsy came out since 1997, so I'll step in if the other fans on here aren't around haha

Wow, old thread, crazy how 6 years my tastes have changed. I had Spiritual Machines as my least fav OLP album once, and now it's my favorite. LOL

Had the Curve disc for about a week or so.

It's the album Raine's always wanted to make, and it comes across so well in the music/lyrics. It's slower, more laid back, but that's what I feel makes it special. Fantastic album that is definitely higher on the chart than Gravity or HiPT. It's on par with Burn Burn, maybe better, my tastes always change with OLP depeding on my mood, no album has ever been poor to me, even Gravity.

Looking forward to seeing them again this summer.

My OLP collection is only at 160 songs. I don't have as much live stuff. I have the Live album and 18 other live/acoustic songs. I have all 8 albums as well, along with about 10 non-album songs and 8 demos.

*edit: Oh, and the A Decade compilation

It's hard for me to rank the albums of theirs, because they are all good, except I think Burn Burn and Healthy In Paranoid Times are their weakest. I'd say Happiness Is Not A Fish You Can Catch is my favorite, followed by a 5 way tie between Naveed/Clumsy/Spiritual Machines/Gravity/Curve, with Burn Burn 7th and HIPT Last. Each album is good though. I never really got all the hate Gravity got. Yeah, it's a bit more mainstream, but it's still a great collection of songs. Do You Like It, A Story About a Girl, Bring Back The Sun, Not Enough, and Sell My Soul are all fantastic.

Updated with music added today. The Decade disc only has the 3 non-album tracks in this count as well, no repeats. If you want anything I have. Let me know.

Man, I'd love all the live stuff you have. I only have 18 miscellaneous live tracks other than the 14 on the Live album haha. It's no big deal if you don't have the time to upload or anything though.

I've only seen them live once despite being a fan for 15 years. They're playing in Buffalo on Friday but it sold out the day tickets went on sale before I got a chance to get any, and the scalpers on ticketshack and stubhub jacked up the prices ridiculously... And then I didn't bother requesting off work because I just assumed I wasn't going, and now there's a few $50 tickets on stubhub but I'm working 12-9:30 friday . Hopefully they come back around here soon. They do tend to come around Buffalo/Rochester every so often.

Let me know if you seriously want it the live stuff, easiest, send me a USB stick or SD card (with a few gigs) and I'll load it back up, to send back. I have 7 full concerts from beginning to end (not edited like the Live album), actually have 13 total, just the other 6 aren't good enough quality. Plus many demos, unreleased songs, odd and end live stuff. I'm always trying to find new stuff.

But yeah, PM me and I'll give you my address, I'll mail it back to you same day I get it and you'll have everything I have. Jeremy said it was the largest collection he had ever seen on someone's ipod. That made me proud. LOL

I've seen then now 14 times I believe, maybe 15. Lost count over the years.

I'll need to free up some space on my flash drive or buy a new one, but I'll definitely consider that.

I usually just zip or rar music folders and upload to filehosts like sendspace.com or such to share with people but that could take time to upload depending on the size. I've become kinda weary with lending out flash drives because I've lent out at least 2 that have never been returned hahaha. But whatever works for you.

Lot of size with these. I've been on OS for over 10 years, I'm not going to stiff you out of a $4 USB drive, especially for a fellow OLP fan.

                              Re: Our Lady Peace

This albums interesting, the individual songs (for the most part) aren't as strong as past albums, but the whole package is far superior to their last couple efforts imo. I really like the progression of this CD. And the more I listen to it, the more the individual songs grow on me, which was not always the case with the last few albums.

I also found it interesting that a lot of the melodies and what not reminded me strongly of OLP circa late 90's on Spiritual Machines, which made the change in Raines voice all the more apparent. On a lot of the tracks it felt like a pre gravity album with a post gravity Raine.

As for ranking them, thats tough, as it really depends on my mood. I'd probably put Clumsy #1, but Happiness is right behind it, and as Raine would say, the entire Naveed album just ****ing rocks. And then Spiritual Machines is just a whole different animal.

Gun to my head I'd go Clumsy/Naveed in group A, Happiness and Spiritual Machines in a very close Group B, Curve a bit further back, then Gravity/HIPT a bit further back, and finally Burn Burn not far behind. So far Curve is right in the middle for me, with a pretty large gap on either side of the spectrum.

I saw OLP for free during the Olympics. Great band to see live. I'm a little bit surprised they didn't become bigger in the USA. Their music is very radio friendly like Nickleback and Daughtry.
