The show is so bad now, they need a new writing staff or something. Using that MTV 4 DJ show skit as your #1 sketch? Terrible. The Digital Shorts are becoming the only things worth watching on the show. And how in the world does Lindsey Lohan host the show 3 times in the first 2 years of her "career"?

I may have overplayed WWS, I've had the single since they put it up on their site for d/l, but I really liked Severed Hand more, it might have been the joy of hearing a new Pearl Jam song.

I thought both songs were very lackluster. Looks like another disappointing album like Riot Act was. It's depressing they were able to take such a step backwards, and continue to do so, after an excellent release in Binaural.

Yeah, I don't quite understand how they can't get a hold of some good writers and at least bring the show back to an OK level. Even the laser cat digital short last night was brutal.

The other two times Lohan hosted she had a few funny sketches, I guess they figured they'd try if they could squeeze out another couple.

I put Binaural and Riot Act on about the same level, they had a decent amount of good/great songs, but both albums have 4-6 songs that really drag the album down. I'm expecting another one of these type albums in their upcoming release.

They are too far into their routine of making albums at this point. The new one was suppossed to be a kick-butt all out rock album, a throwback to the "Vs." days. But then as songs start to leak and more impressions are heard, it is clear it is a lot like Riot Act: a few rocking songs, a few soft songs and a few in the middle. I will reserve my own judgement until May 2 though.

And for the record, "Severed Hand" was a very good song

Wow I think i didn't laugh even once during that entire SNL...they should just fire all of them except Hader and start from scratch.

The thing is, they have some good actors on the show, but the writing just sucks. It didn't help that Maya Rudolph and Horatio Sanz were both absent last night. But they have a handful of people who can be really good, they just don't get any good sketches.

yeah true. that stupid MTV skit they do, in fact just about any of the MTV skits they do never get ANY laughs so why do they keep bringing them back as if they are viewer favorites???!!!

about the only skit i've found pretty hilarious in a long time is the "A-holes skit" and also I have always liked the Falconer skit too but they haven't showed that in quite a while.

I agree, that MTV skit with Keenan is terrible. To be fair to the show, the skits that make the show are determined by the host. So in reality, it is just one more reason to hate Lindsey Lohan.

The episode with Peter Sardsgard in January/February was the best one I've seen in a long time, which is pretty sad, but at least it had more than a few laughs.

The only thing I thought was funny last night was the spoof commercial of the Coin Drop theme creme.

As far as PJ goes, I thought both songs had more riffs than Binaral and Riot Act put togather.

Supposedly, this new CD has more guitar work in it, which makes me happy. We shall see.

WWS sounds more like Do The Evolution than anything off Vs. (which they say it's supposed to sound like IIRC)... few relatively simple, nice riffs, catchy chorus, same tempo/pacing... too mainstream/not spontaneous enough to be off Vs.
