If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -
Re: The Village/M. Night Shyamalan
The Village was awful, and very boring. The ending was stupid. His other two movies I saw were Unbreakable and Signs. Unbreakable was really weird and boring, like most of his movies. I didn't think Signs was great, but I liked it. It was way better than Village and Unbreakable, IMO.NBA: New York Knicks

I agree with those that said Unbreakable is really underrated. That is arguably my favorite Shyamalan film.Comment

Originally posted by ErodWhen Bruce Willis was sitting in the living room with the kid and his mom, she never spoke to him; Willis did all the speaking. When he was sitting at dinner with wife while she cried, only he spoke. No one ever spoke to Willis the entire movie but the kid, even though often there were people around.
Not until the ring dropped from her hand did you realize that Willis was dead the whole time.
Again, there were a million clues that he was dead, yet no one figured it out. Shyamalan fooled everybody even though his "twist" should have been obvious to us all. It's like he wasn't even hiding it, but we were too absorbed in the movie to put 2 and 2 together.
Also I've never gotten around to seeing Unbreakable, I'll have to pick that up sometime next week and check it out when I have some time.Favorite Teams:

Never saw the Village... heard it was horrible. Sixth Sense, Signs (minus the ending) and Unbreakable I thought were all above average.
After watching The Village the first time..... I had to regroup and ask "what did I just watch?" and couldn't answer my own question. I expect that "aha" experience after watching it the second time, but didn't get it. The only thing I gained from watching it the second time was realizing how great of an actor Adrian Brody truly is.Comment

Re: The Village/M. Night Shyamalan
I do not like Shyamalan, I think his movies are overrated. I loved Sixth Sense, I didn't see the twist until the ring was dropped either.
Signs, awful.
Unbreakbable, Unwatchable.
But The Village, while up there in bad, bad movies, had one great, great, great scene. The scene where the mentially handicapped guy stappes Lucious. Now, we see tons of violence and attacks in movies. But I saw that movie opening night, and that simple stab wound and the way it was shown had everyone in the theater going "oohhh". Just a wonderfully shot scene. Rest of the movie is dog **** though.Comment

Originally posted by daflyboysHe's clearly an incredible writer, but you may be correct about the inflated ego. Maybe that's why he puts himself in roles in his own movies that he is clearly wrong for (especially being the doctor in Signs.....the only flaw of the movie imo...but easily overlooked b/c of how great it was on many levels.)
he has a cameo in his films as a tribute to hitchcock.Comment
