Not until the ring dropped from her hand did you realize that Willis was dead the whole time.

Again, there were a million clues that he was dead, yet no one figured it out. Shyamalan fooled everybody even though his "twist" should have been obvious to us all. It's like he wasn't even hiding it, but we were too absorbed in the movie to put 2 and 2 together.
I don't know why you are equating yourself with everyone else. The twist was fairly obvious.

The Village was awful, and very boring. The ending was stupid. His other two movies I saw were Unbreakable and Signs. Unbreakable was really weird and boring, like most of his movies. I didn't think Signs was great, but I liked it. It was way better than Village and Unbreakable, IMO.

I agree with those that said Unbreakable is really underrated. That is arguably my favorite Shyamalan film.

I am excited for Lady in the Water, even though I can't figure out what type of a movie it is going to be. It is supposed to be for kids, or is it actually a suspsense. I have a feeling that is the type of guessing Shyamalan wants is to be doing at this point. But the preview did look pretty sweet.

Is this yet another person who figured out the big twist at the beginning of the movie?

Also IIRC (haven't seen the movie in a few years so might be wrong but I'm pretty sure) Willis was wearing the same suit throughout the entire movie, another subtle hint.

Also I've never gotten around to seeing Unbreakable, I'll have to pick that up sometime next week and check it out when I have some time.

Anyone caught his credit card ad? I think it's for American Express.

                It's kind of cool.

He's clearly an incredible writer, but you may be correct about the inflated ego. Maybe that's why he puts himself in roles in his own movies that he is clearly wrong for (especially being the doctor in Signs.....the only flaw of the movie imo...but easily overlooked b/c of how great it was on many levels.)

After watching The Village the first time..... I had to regroup and ask "what did I just watch?" and couldn't answer my own question. I expect that "aha" experience after watching it the second time, but didn't get it. The only thing I gained from watching it the second time was realizing how great of an actor Adrian Brody truly is.

I do not like Shyamalan, I think his movies are overrated. I loved Sixth Sense, I didn't see the twist until the ring was dropped either.

                    Signs, awful.

                    Unbreakbable, Unwatchable.

But The Village, while up there in bad, bad movies, had one great, great, great scene. The scene where the mentially handicapped guy stappes Lucious. Now, we see tons of violence and attacks in movies. But I saw that movie opening night, and that simple stab wound and the way it was shown had everyone in the theater going "oohhh". Just a wonderfully shot scene. Rest of the movie is dog **** though.

he has a cameo in his films as a tribute to hitchcock.

Ditto. They are , IMO, fresh and "different".
I guess for some if theres no sex or extreme violence it's not a good movie.
