As for weak endings, I have to say that while I generally like M. Night's movies (and the denigrating of "Unbreakable" is abominable), but the weakest ending to me was "Signs". The suspense, tention, and mood were great...but WATER as the secret weapon! What the hell?!
I agree, terrible ending. Kinda of ironic the aliens come to invade a planet where 70% of it is covered in water, yet that is their primary weakness.

          Just saw Flightplan.

Great movie full of suspense up until the last 20 minutes. Terrible ending.

Double jeopard was another movie with a bad ending.

However, Arlington Road was a blah movie until the ending. Best ending for an action/suspense movie I can remember seeing.

I have to totally agree with you on that. The ending MADE that movie.

i fully agree that ending was really suspect.

I thought Flightplan was all-around one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Again, that's the way the book ended.

Just be thankful the rest of the trilogy wasn't as incredibly boring as the books....

Dreamcatchers started out looking like it would be such a cool movie....then just got stupider and stupidest.

More recently, A History of Violence really left me flat and scratching my head about a lot of things; writing, character development, the William Hurt casting.....disappointing imo. Plus, Ed Harris' role was beneath his scope.

I really liked Unbreakable but thought the ending tidbits which explained what happened to so and so kind of hurt the overall impact. Couldn't they just have shown some quick clips of the characters after?

That's exactly what I was saying... I think they should have ended it at the freeze frame, so you wonder how it all played out.

The funniest part of that whole movie was when those wolves escaped the zoo somehow and of all places ended up on the ship when Jake Gyllenhall and company were looking for medicine. There the wolves attacked. My reaction was, "WTF is this? How likely is it that the wolves would escape to of all places right where that ship is?" I just laughed out loud in the theatre at that part. That one and when the guy is reporting in LA with a tornado behind him which ends up taking him away. Who in their right mind would not be running at that point? I guess that whole movie was based on things that wouldn't normally happen whatsoever.
