I like Black Thought a lot as an MC. I have to say I liked him a little better when he flows with that more aggressive, confrontational attitude he often carried during the pre-Things Fall Apart days as opposed to the mainly chilled out mindstate he has these days. He still knows how to bring it when it's time though.

hes a good lyricist but just not versatile enough to be considered one of the best.

What do you guys think about Lupe Fiasco?

Some of his songs are really good. With that Kanye stamp of approval, I can really see him taking off.

I've been a fan of his for awhile. He should get some looks because of the kanye thing.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

i think hes a very boring and generic rapper.

You know, that's funny, I thought the same thing when I 1st heard him too. He has a voice like little zane (not really a good thing), but without the pac influence all over it. He didnt really grab my attention with it. His delivery and flow is nothing special either. However, his songs, stories, lyrics, etc. are anything but generic. I just got his album (though I dont think its real) yesterday and had that same opinion, but today it seems like I cant stop playing it. He's a breath of fresh air to me.

If you want to hear some good material from KRS, then get any if not all of his BDP joints (pre-'92), his first 3 solo albums before he went on a brief "hiatus" [Return of the Boom Bap ('93), self-titled KRS-One ('95), I Got Next ('97)], plus The Sneak Attack (2000), The Mix Tape ('01) for the Nelly diss track "Ova Here" plus other tracks Da Beatminerz blessed him with, and Keep Right ('04). The flow and rhyme styles he use in his BDP work is obviously outdated along with mainly simplistic beats, but lyrical content is still relevant today and I would still recommend any hip-hop fan to listen to them all.

Although I wouldn't consider any of his solo albums classics, they are all good to very good albums with few lackluster tracks mixed in that brings down the overall quality of each of them. The styles he flows with on some of the tracks on these albums are insane. He flows in ways many MCs are scared to do or just can't. And everyone knows he can rap on variety of subjects many MCs wouldn't dare touch. KRS is one of the most complete MCs ever, and he proves why he's in my personal pantheon of the Great Four MCs of All Time (G Rap, Rakim and Kane are the others if you're curious).

And if you only have the opportunity to get a select few or one outside his BDP stuff, then you must get Return of the Boom Bap, his best solo album to date in my opinion. The tracks DJ Premier did on the album are great. The beat for "Outta Here" still bangs today, and "Higher Level" is one of the greatest hip-hop tracks I ever heard. The lead single "Sound of Da Police" was a really good one from Showbiz. And Kid Capri hit KRS off with some nice beats as well like on "Brown Skin Woman" and "Stop Frontin'" for starters. Just a very solid album. I would rank the self-titled KRS-One and Keep Right as next best after this.

I swear, Busta Rhymes sounds so much like KRS. They're content is way different and KRS is better lyrically, but they both flow the same way, sound the same way and have that great mic presence.

I'm just pointing that out cause I'm a huge Bus fan, and listening to more KRS, it's easy to like him.
