Yeah man, off top, just to get an idea of the kind of people I listen to are: Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Wu-Tang, Big L, The Lox, Big Pun, (Old) Mobb Deep, The Game, Dipset, Fabolous, Cassidy, Joe Budden (one of my favorites), Royce da 5'9" (another HUGE favorite), Eminem, AZ, Cormega, Black Star, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco (cant get enough of him right now), (old) DMX, Canibus, almost anything Bad Boy puts out (Ma$e, Diddy, Shyne, G. Dep, even Da Band... loved the show), and so on and so forth. I'm not an underground head at all. I dont listen to it mainly because the music isnt as easy to get ahold of, find in stores, etc.

I think if you're into underground and that's your thing, cool. I just dont like the mentale that if more than one person has heard of you, you're no longer a dope MC. I think that backpackin is more about bein on some ish that few people know about (read: being "cool") than it is about the music. I know thats a messed up thing to say, especially from a guy who just admitted that he really isnt into the whole underground rap thing, but I remember someone from this site saying "I dont listen to any mainstream rap, just underground". What about being heard by more than 3 people makes the music that bad? I dont get it. And the thing that really gets me, is people complain and complain about their underground guy not getting any love, but once MC Foodstamp gets a legit record deal, those same people will hate on him and call him a seellout. Crazy.
You must be talking about R.O.T.N, Lupie the Jedi,Farenheit 1/15 and Rhyming Ape mixtapes. I think they combined all of them together. The dude is smooth as butter.

Oh wait Jmood has made his entrance and once again he knows everything about rap and no one else does! LOL please jmood keep your cocky remarks to yourself.

I have nothing against underground rappers and quite a few of them are very talanted but they still arn't anywhere near being in the top 10 of current great rappers.

Did I ever say that I knew everything and that no one else does? I said that you don't know what you're talking about. There's a big difference.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

maybe. i'm not familiar w/ those mixtapes.

He has freestyles/songs over famous beats like "theifs theme", "mic check", "jesus walks", "still dre", "diamonds from sierra leone", "runnin (the game)", "lose yourself", just to name a few. Then it has the "food and liquor" album on it that has leaked, and it has stuff like "touch the sky" on it. It's 64 tracks of pure lupe fiasco.

What makes 2pac and Biggie so great is that they had sick beats they were versitile they were real and spoke their mind and they could rap about anything and they weren't scared to be different. I'm not saying underground rappers suck but theres a reason they are underground and its not just because they are keeping it "real."
This is perhaps the worst thing I've ever read regarding hip-hop.

Yall know who used to be tight about 10 years ago? F'n Reggie "Redman" Noble. I was transfering some music to my ipod and came across his first album, "What? Thee Album". That ish was tight back in '92. I guess the weed got to him.

Man, after his first two albums I don't know what happened to him. On that first one, Erick Sermon put it down witht the production. He used a lot of samples but that ish was tight!

                          Damn, I miss those days!

Lil Wayne is a nice lyricist, but Tha Carter I and II were dissapointments to me. He has no creativity and all his songs are the standard 3 verses about money, girls, or how dangerous he is.
