Eh, I'm not impressed.

All you have to do is take 10,000 times your first three digits and add the last four digits to it, and have some useless crap that cancels out.

The equation works out to this (x = first three digits, y = last four digits):

[250 * (80x + 1) + 2y - 250] / 2 = 10,000x + y

That simplifies to:

(20000x + 2y) / 2 = 10,000x + y

Which, obviously simplifies to the required:

10,000x + y = 10,000x + y

Yawn.

I don't understand what's so great about it.

You key in all 7 digits somewhere in the equation. All the "genius" had to do was find the right numbers that give you all 7 digits together in the solution.

This is exactly what I mean; you must have been picked on as a kid. Does it make you feel better about yourself to solve these simple problems and then make a stupid comment at the end? It was a cool trick to everyone else, and then you have to chime to make everyone feel stupid.
