Seven Soldiers was fantastic, really. You could definitely read them apart from one another, but there are clues and hints in each book that refer to the others - they stand alone, but work best together. I'm not sure on order - I read them as they came out.

The first the TPBs are available, you might try those instead of the original series.

    Here's a link for the first 6 TPBs (3 hardcovers) for $40 ... a fantastic deal:

Though, if you really want a TPB, I would recommend The Ultimates. That hardcover is what got me back in comics, really. And the Grant Morrison X-Men hardcovers.

Well, I hope this site is good (prices are great!!)

I was gonna drop 60 (plus tax and shipping) on that spidey hardcover at Amazon/Borders.

Now, instead, for 61.09 (after tax and shipping) I got the same book split into 3 hardcovers (much easier to carry!), AND I got The Ultimates hardcover vol. 1 per your reccomendation (it was 20.99 on that site).

Thanks to you I basically got the Avengers for free. Essentially 8 TPB's for 7.75 each ($1.17 per issue).

Here are a couple other sites to buy comics/TPBs from

Mile High Comics I've dealt with them 3 times and have never had a problem.

Popular Comics I haven't tried them but will this summer. They seem to have VERY good prices.

I've bought many times from Mile High as well if I can't find them on ebay. Also, when I'm having a hard time finding a certain backissue, I have ordered from this site: http://www.mycomicshop.com/megastore/search They've had some pretty good prices for backstock.

            fossen,
Thanks, I'll probably try to find all those issues. I know there were 7 4-issue mini-series for each soldier, wasn't there also two other general issues?

It's just the continuation of the Ultimates story. Rather than continue numbering and coming out late, they took a while off and came back with Ultimates 2 #1

I ordered just that set from the site.

I use Amazon for TPBs, mainly. Though another great price place is Instocktrades.com

if you're looking for comics from within the past two years or so, I find Midtown to be a great bet - not much discount, but excellent stock.

                  Eventually.

There is a #0 issue that launches everything and is pretty essential reading, and there will be a #1 isue to finish the whole project off. It's been delayed - no idea when it'll come.

So the series isn't going past #1? I thought they were going to have an on-going monthly title starting up pretty soon. Maybe just seeing the #1 tricked me into thinking that.

I've only heard good things about the series and remember seeing stuff on your blog about it, I need to check it out.

There's no announced ongoing, no. Though the characters will be available for others to use - they all exist in the mainstream DCU and appeared in Infinite Crisis and 52.

With Morrison writing All-Star Superman, 52, Batman, and Wildcats ... I don't think even he can write any more than that.

Hey, has anyone in this thread been to Wizard World before? I ask because it's apparently in town this weekend and one of my friend's is keen on going. I'm not a comic collector or reader these days, but I do love superheroes and I do appreciate the art and storylines of the comics. Has anyone gone to this thing before and have any experiences to share?

That's cool. I hope to see them around more. The only two I'm familar with is Zantana and Mr Miracle. I'll probably check to see what my LCS has instock today when I go pickup my weeklies.

                          Thanks.

Also, I thought Morrison was also attached the The Authority this fall with Gene Ha. Maybe not? He's a very busy guy huh?

Why would you use amazon, when that place u first linked me to is SO much cheaper? The Ultimates for example is like 27 at amazon and 20 on that site.

Free shipping over $25, and the prices usually are much more even, often within pennies.

I always hit a few sites when doing an order, though ... it's just that on the whole, Amazon usually ends up cheaper and having more in stock.
