And also, one day they will categorized rap songs. Songs like Laffy Taffy, Betcha Can't Do It Like Me, and Lean Wit It should be categorized as club rap. Or dance rap or somethin. And should be used as examples of what rap really is.
They don't play the rap these so-called hip hop heads want to hear on the radio. That kinda rap isn't the fad right now. And it seems that these guys are mad that it isn't the fad. Go find a hiphop community somewhere on the net and their you'll prolly find what you would call "real rap".
But with that said, sometimes I get tired of just ordinary rap. I wish some artists would add their own distinctive style. Alot of them sound the same. I like the way Lil Wayne plays with his words (I love Suck It or Not, he f***in rips it). I loved Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. I really hope they come with a good album this year that is more like E. 1999 Eternal. I love how they rap w/ their machine gun flow and harmonize it at the same time. I also liked DMX.

Re: So when will the rap fad go away?
It's all about exposure.....how can Little Brother sell more records then lil wayne if no one see's them on tv? People here about them on some internet message board or some unknown hiphop site. Little Brother got signed to a major label because of the fairly large fanbase that they assembled on the internet.
Its all about what type of music you make. It would be nice if their was some type of variety but in any business, the way to make money is to follow trend or stick to whats hot. If you do that, you dont want your name out there. What some artist do is start off commercial and when they get more experienced and have more creative control, they put out their own type of music. The thing with Underground Hip Hop artist is that they're afraid to lose the fanbase that grew up with them and sopported them since day one. Its loyalty at its finest. When they can always cross over and get 10x the amount of fans and sopporters. Its the stigma thats been created in the last 6+ years.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
