Come on up to NH, we can make it a little OS meet up.

I'll probably go to the 11:30am or 3:00pm showing on the 18th, I don't like seeing movies when it's packed.

You and me both, I usually go to the earliest showing too on a Sunday and usually even blockbusters have hardly anyone there.

BTW - Anyone here from Columbus going to Worthington to see it at the IMAX? I'm just moving into that area and would love to go see it with a fellow OS'er!
I had no idea that there was an Imax theater in Worthington, I usually go to Easton if I want to see an Imax movie. What's the theater called?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Yeah it's right off of I-23 exit off I-270. After you exit I-270 hang an immediate right and it's in that business plaza. BTW - The address says Columbus so technically it's not Worthington but it's right up in that area. Here's a link.

Huh, I have ignored this thread the whole time because I didn't know what the Dark Knight was. Finally realized it's Batman. Now I have 30 pages to read.

I shouldn't be laughing, I was like that about five months ago. I always disregarded the thread as being some sort of fantasy movie coming out (maybe along the LOTR path).

But like I said a few pages back, I like this move, not having "Batman" in the title. It's a good reminder that this is not a superhero movie. It still is, however, the sequel to the first one, so we can't disregard it completely. I just hope most people understand that it is the sequel without having to get images of it.

I don't see how not having Batman in the title is supposed to be an indication of anything.

Really, it shouldn't. But people's unconscious says otherwise. We see Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Superman, and even Batman [Begins], and people may not give something a look because they feel like, in their mind, a superhero movie won't fulfill their needs. I know my mom is like that, I know what kinds of movies she likes, and I know that she would have a chance at liking a movie like this. She has yet to see Batman Begins, but she loved Memento, The Prestige, and V for Vendetta. That said, Batman Begins is a kind of movie where she would have loved the first hour more than any other part.

I don't think TDK is going to be like Batman Begins at all in that regard, but I think she can combine elements of the movies she likes and find good in The Dark Knight. I don't think she or many other people with a similar mindset would give this movie the same look or afterthought had it been titled with Batman, and that's just my personal opinion.

Grab a burger at In-N-Out and then at Cafe D'Alsace. Honestly, I'm not even looking at value or health benefits... I prefer In-N-Out's burger's taste. Other people won't because, unconsciously, brand name strikes them first (or by conventional means). Sorry to go rampant and use such an extreme example, but that's just what people do. It just is.

We may get to read/hear in an interview/commentary why Nolan decided to name this The Dark Knight instead of perhaps even Batman: The Dark Knight (or at least something with the name Batman in it). Again, to better help the overall audience know that this movie is a sequel to Batman Begins, it's tough to do it when the name Batman isn't in the title. So it's obvious Nolan went for a wise choice in naming this The Dark Knight. I'd say it's more because it's less about the superhero Batman and more about... well... The Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne in costume.
