Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I can't help but feel the same way. I saw the legend beginning to grow when his RIP thread popped up. That said, I thought his version of the Joker was great, and I'd say that even if he were alive.PS: You guys are great.

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I probably was expecting too much with all the hype. It very good, but not the best Batman movie IMO. I thought Batman Begins was better.
The first Batman movie (with Michael Keaton) is still my favorite and I liked Nicolson better as the Joker.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I understand some of the backlash but i'm one of those people that really don't think actors today are as good as those 30-40 years ago and beyond were. Ledger's performance was on a par with some of the greatest acting jobs of the last 25 years at least. I never gave a damn about Ledger before this movie so seeing how well he did as the Joker really opened my eyes and at the same time makes me mad that he died.
I'd say he deserves a nomination even if he was alive.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Just got back from my second viewing...You fellas were right. It is better the second time. Call me an idiot but I think I was just scrambling to figure out what was happening all the time on my first viewing. Now that I had the big picture sorted I could just enjoy the performances and the little details I missed.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I just saw it today on an IMAX screening and loved it. Thought Heath Ledger was an excellent Joker. Loved Jack N. in the original Batman movie but I'd feel the same about Ledger's performance whether he was alive or dead. Aaron Eckhart was great as Two-Face. My favorite Batman movie so far. I love dark movies like these.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I understand where some of you are coming from when you say it was good but not the best movie ever made. I had a couple friends go see it this past weekend, they liked it but didn't know why it was so hyped up.
I really do think its because of the passing of time. When the movie first came out. Many knew it would be awesome, so when we all went to see it, its opening weekend we were all blown away by just how awesome it was. However i think the hype train went into overtime when the its opening weekend ended.
I guess since so many people and critics were blown away with it, it got such a media buzz and frenzy, that it literally elevated the hype up by at least 70% therefore making the movie only good to some and not outstanding.
Not sure if you all understood what i wrote. But i think if everyone would of seen it, its opening week, then the playing field would sort of been leveled. The hype wouldn't have been too much for the movie to play off of in a certain way.
I still consider it one of the best movies i have seen. Its almost tied up with Memento in my mind.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I thought it was really good. I think Heath did an amazing job as the Joker, not as great as every one else thinks, but still he was amazing. I really like 2 face and Batman was a stud as usual, very good movie.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
Just a couple observations:
1. I like how they made Two-Face look realistic but not TOO gory. It seems they modeled the face on The Long Halloween. There were a couple girls seated next to me and when Two-Face was revealed for the first time they both gasped and ewwed. So you know the shock factor worked well there.
2. Is it just me or did Maggie look a lot like Carrie Fisher? I'm not saying it's bad but I kept thinking Carrie Fisher every time she was on screen!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
Just saw it tonight. HOLY ****ING ****! That was a freaking incredible movie. Ledger may be sadly dead and that adds to how people view his performance, but I can honestly say that even if he were alive today his Joker performance would have still blown me away just as much as it did tonight. EVERYTHING about this movie was just done right, the script was amazing. As someone said earlier, every sentence the Joker said was epic and quote worthy. Just amazing all around. I kept fearing throughout the movie that this great movie could be ruined by the ending, because seriously how do you end this movie and keep the greatness going, but I must say that the ending was fairly impressive as well. Great closing statements for sure. Just WOW to the whole thing, WOW!!!!Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I saw it today and really enjoyed it. I thought the lighting and music really helped set the stage overall.
The Joker was phenomenal as well...sad that Heath passed away. Every scene he was in was memorable. I don't know why but he kept reminding me of a young Mel Gibson playing that part.
I'll probably go see it again...first time in a long time I've done that at the theater.- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment
