Can't believe I waited this long to see this movie. Incredible-one of the best movies I have ever seen regardless of genre. My only complaint (ultra microscopic tweeny weeny) is that the movie would have been even more chilling with an R Rated latitude. I almost hated saying that-still an A++.

I thought the film was excellent. I think it will end up the best of the year.

Just got back from seeing it the 2nd time, still phenomenal. I really enjoyed The Joker even more now than the first time. Felt like i was able to watch and see more of the nuances of the character. Well done all around, and still leaves plenty open for a third movie

I agree with you. SS, maybe it's because you're going into it from the POV of someone looking fro a good movie, and most others have the POV of someone who's followed Batman thru comics, television show (animated or old school) or graphic novels. The earlier Batman movies were made pretty much as you described. They were great but weren't connected at all and I think that hurt them. BB and TDK fit together well, and progress logically. I really want to watch them back to back. BB was more about developing Batman's character, so in TDK his character was already developed. We needed to know about the bad guys. It did flow like a comic from beginning to end, and I think staying true to the original story as much as possible is why it's the best comic book movie made. Like I said before, that's my beef with the Spiderman and Xman movies. They're all great but could be better if they were more consistent with the comics.

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Regarding the greatness of this film it's definitely not one of the best of all time but it's the best in its genre by a country mile and is also a film in its own rights. If it was just about some masked vigilante and some crazy guy it'd still be a great film.

As for Bats being a secondary character. I didn't mind that. Often in the comics in a huge story arc that has the Joker involved Batman is often in the background for most of it. I also think Nolan wanted to make the film very dark in tone and the only way you're going to do that is to focus on the villain.

Regarding the ending...C'mon if you're someone that has followed Batman you know the psychological ying/yang dynamic between Batman and the Joker. Those two characters complete each other to the point that they'd be battling it out with each other when they're 80+ years old and needing canes and wheelchairs.

I think all the comparisons the critics made early on to Godfather 1 & 2, The Departed, Goodfellas, and The Untouchables was a bit too much, not to mention a little funny.

I think the comparisons were a little much but you can definitely compare the tone of this movie to some of those. They really set the tone well with this film. In my mind it's going to be incredibly hard to top this movie.

Agreed. This movie was actually entertaining.

                      Nice.

I'm actually planning 4 more viewings (all on IMAX) in addition to the two times I've already seen it there. Just got to plan it out with people and buy the tickets in advance. Sweet.

Just got back from the movie, thought it was pretty good. I don't understand the total fascination with it like others seem to have, nor do I think Heath Ledger deservers an Oscar nomination.

watched it again today with some folks that hadnt seen it yet and it was great the second time around.

but my friend that said the guy in the chair that Harvey almost shoots is named Jarvis Tetch is wrong. His name was Spliff or something like that.

I saw this yesterday and I hadn't even seen the trailer but once and that was right before I went to see it, I watched the trailer on myspace, I didn't want anything to ruin any surprises for me and I was starting to hear bad reviews from friends, so I was starting to worry.

But I was so impressed and blown away by this movie. Of couse I have to mention my boy, Heath, he was absolutely fantastic and probably right up there with Darth Vader, if not scarier, as the baddest villan ever. I would even put him above Hannibal Lector because Heath's Joker was literally disturbing the whole time and yet I couldn't take my eyes off of him and I was so impressed with the charm, depth, and madness he managed to put into that part.

I thought Maggie was good, I'm in the minority but I think she's pretty and that Will Ferrell movie About Flick or whatever made me start to like her a lot.

I thought Oldman and Eckhart were gold and I thought Bale did great as Bruce Wayne, but I didn't like how his voice sounded kind of muffled as Batman, that is my one tiny complaint and it's barely worth mentioning.

I'm gonna go see this again soon, I've gotta see the Joker on the big screen again, it was awesome.
