Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

After crucial debate with myself I have narrowed down the movie's best scene/moment.
Best/scariest line in the movie and the laugh just brings it all home.

That scene and the interrogation are my two favorite.

Agreed. The interrogation scene is amazing.

Finally got my next 3 IMAX viewings lined up. Two for this weekend and one in mid-August. That'll bring me up to 5 times on IMAX. Hurray!

I think the best scene was the first Joker story about his scars.

There's lots of great scenes. I think my favorite might have to be the pencil trick still. I just had no idea that it was coming and for some reason I was just in awe at what had happened after that.

My top 6 scenes are all scenes with The Joker in it:

                    -The Interrogation
-Pencil Trick and ensuing speech ("and as for the...television's...plan")
                    -The video tape
                    -The first "scars" story
                    -The entire Joker/Hospital scene
-The post interrogation scene, with Joker and the officer

IMO that interrogation scene will be seen in clips of great movie scenes for the next 25 years. One of the best scenes i've seen in modern cinema. It's right up there with the coffee shop scene in HEAT.

I would see no reason for his character to return because if the public did discover him, it would destroy the entire point of this movie, regardless of what half of his face looks like. People would still see Harvey Dent being a crazy mofo and the hope brought on the city by the "white knight" would be literally and figuratively killed.

Plus he wasn't laying on the ground like someone that was just knocked out, he was sprawled all over the place. They turned his head with no resistance. The guy is dead.
I don't know if you follow the story of Batman (looking from a comic perspective rather than just from the movie), the transition of Dent the hero and friend of Wayne/Batman to 2face is pretty consistent. IF (for argument sake) 2face is alive, his next appearance would follow the comic just fine... pretty much hiding in the shadows, interactions with Batman leaves him a bit torn, etc. I'm pretty sure he's not only alive but will be in the next movie.

Jm00d, mel = gibson. I don't think Joker will be in the next one either but could make a comeback if they do a Batman Begins series.

I really don't see how Mel Gibson could play the Joker. Heath may have been a surprise but he showed before that he had some depth as an actor. Maybe I've missed out on some Gibson movies but I just can't see him doing a good job in that role.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

A young Mel Gibson (circa Mad Max) probably could've done a decent job. That's about it.

I was just gonna say Mel Gibson circa Lethal Weapon would've done a pretty good job as he'd have the crazy yet strangely likable part of the Joker down cold.
