Yeah, you're probably the only one. One of the best comic-movie scenes of all-time.

If they hadn't done the whole...cheesy un-masking thing, with the kid handing him the mask and all of that...yeah, it would've been one of the best. But that entire thing ruined the scene for me.

I'd place at least four scenes of TDK above that. It was definitely the best scene in all of the Spidey movies, but that is not saying much since - even as a big fan of the first two - I can't really name any memorable scenes from either of them.

Damn fellas... at least admit you have a preference. It's not like you don't have a billion posts in this thread about how "this movie will own your soul" or something to that extent. But the tension and emotion as he's fighting... the suit breaking as he's holding the webs to stop the train... all magnificent.

I do agree about the part with the kid and the mask... but that's Spiderman. That character has always been light-hearted and enjoyable.. even in the comics. That's why I say his dark side was horrifically handled.

Those dancing scenes single-handedly killed the elite level of the series for me. Ugh. I try and pretend #3 never happened, despite how great the tasty Ms. Howard was as Gwen Stacy.

Well I don't know about you, but I really loved the scene in S3 when he saves Gwen Stacy.

S3 should be forgotten about in it's entirety.

I'm trying to think of any scenes that I can remember...

-S3: Spidey breaking away from the symbiote.
-S2: The bank and ensuing wall-chase between Doc Oc and Spidey
-S1: Spidey chasing down Ben's killer

Hm...those are probably my three favorite scenes from the movies. Maybe I'll watch the first two again today.

Which reminds me...Spidey's casting was one thing that really kept the movie from the elite level of TDK, in my opinion. Every major character in Batman was well cast...yet Spidey ****s up on one of the biggest characters in Mary Jane? I actually had completely forgotten about the horrible pick of Dunst until you brought up the kissing scene. Franco was decent as Harry...minus any of the revenge scenes in 2 and 3. He was a good Harry, but a bad villain when they tried to switch him to that. Franco, as an actor, is better suited for the up-beat, happy, comedy roles...not a vengeful villain.

And yeah, the train scene is definitely the best scene in the Spidey series and is definitely a very good one, but the kid part killed it for me. They could've had the train help Spidey up without him losing his mask.

And I really don't think the fact that I've always been a bigger Batman fan, and thought TDK was a much better movie effects my judgment on Spidey. For years, the first two Spiderman movies were the cream of the crop for superhero movies, and were definitely my favorites. I'd put TDK above both, S2 above Batman Begins, and BB above Spidey. There are just...too many things wrong, and not enough memorable scenes (for me) to say they were the best comic book adaptations.

So we'll have to agree to disagree.

yeah i agree with you i found the kiss scene very cheesy especially with the nipples, and i thought the train scene was super cheesy with the mask and all and then him being carried like if it were a rock concert all very cheesy to me, and then to make things worst spidey 3 made me hate the whole series, i dont think the train scene was good but the best comic book scene of all time i disagree

I never said it was a selling point on the movie... just brought up memorable scenes. Can you honestly say, the way she pulled down his mask to the nose... did not reflect the comic pretty damn well? (EDIT: The fact that Kash can remember it pretty clearly and with detail shows it was "memorable." )

That was the purpose of the movies, IMO: To put on film a visual representation of a comic.

I will admit I'm being hard on TDK. I just don't feel the hype was worthy. Still a great film.

The way I see it is this: I enjoyed them all... just like I really enjoyed Iron Man (and didn't expect to). That's all I could ask for.

But again... let's pretend Spiderman 3 never released, ok?

All of you can do that, but for me it's a no-can-do. Spider-Man 3 went in a terrible direction compared to what I visualized it would do by the look of the theatrical trailer, but it was not at all a bad movie by my standards. Do I wish they did something else? Most definitely. But that's what I do with any movie. I can't write, direct, edit, come up with scores, etc... but if I see something that is made, it is then that I can say what is wrong and how it should be corrected. I do this with every movie, even The Dark Knight and its few short-cut scenes, etc. Hell, I even do it with songs.

But I only have what I have, and I loved what I had in S3. Yes, I hated the dancing scenes (even though I cracked up at the same time), but in the end, it was another Spider-Man movie.

At least we agree on one thing...the movie's hype wasn't warranted. Only difference is you think TDK's hype wasn't warranted, and I think Spidey's hype wasn't warranted (as much I enjoyed them, and I own all three)

I think some people would have actually preferred Katie Holmes over Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight... just so she would be the one who's *** gets blown to bits.

I can't imagine how many people would probably be cheering after that.

Ha... I guess we'll agree to disagree. Mary Jane and the romance she brought has ALWAYS been an integral part of Spiderman's story... and I think it was handled pretty well.

Oh... another great scene... where he fights Flash... and the webbing getting stuck on the lunch trays.

I have to watch these movies again. Wish I could get a great deal for them on Blu-Ray.
