it's getting good reviews. the theatre near my house is having one of the 10:00 showings tonite. I'll probably wait til tomorrow or towards the weekend.

I'm guessing you are talking about Superman Returns?

Absolutely AMAZING teaser (especially in HD)! I agree that they couldn't possibly throw in a Spidey/Venom confrontation without approaching a three hour run time (not that I would complain). If there's one thing I love about the Spidey flicks is that they spend the time developing their characters, so covering backstory on Sandman, Eddie Brock/Venom, and Gwen Stacy...along with the inevitable showdown with Harry seems a bit much for a regular two plus hour movie.

Why do they have to do this to us! Now in spirit of that other "waiting" thread I have to again question my mortality so as to not miss the next Spidey. At least it will coincide with the next Harry Potter book so once they both drop I can die in peace...

*EDIT: I guess I'll have to hang on a bit later, since Spider-man is in May, with Potter likely on 07/07/07.*

I agree. I love the black costume. Really, the only thing different is the spider symbol isn't as big as in the comics, which is fine with me.

I don't like the raised web, it looks out of place on the black costume. And I always liked how the spider went all around his body. I can see why they would make the spider logo black vs white, but I would have liked to have seen it over-sized like it was grabbing ahold of him (like the original). I just always thought the symbolism of the whole thing worked well.

When I click the link for the trailer nothing happens. I downloaded and installed quick time but still nothing. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there anywhere the trailer would be in a different format? I really want to check out the trailer but I am not exactly great at downloading videos. Thanks for any help guys.

I have seen the first two movies and really enjoyed them. I feel like I am one of the only people who have no history of the comics at all, without any knowledge of the characters. I am still a fan of the movies though. I guess I just don't get the teaser with the whole black suit and fighting the battle within part. Can someone explain the basis for this without making me feel bad for not already knowing this in a thread where everyone seems to know?

Quick...Venom history for dummies:

Alien symbiot(what you see when Peter is lying down cling to his right arm) gets onto Earth, and attaches itself to Spiderman, fusing with his suit and making him faster, stronger, giving him the black suit, but also makes him darker, more evil. Peter/Spiderman then start to fight the darkness(Venom) in a inner struggle of good/morals Vs evil/power. The symbiot then leaves Parker and goes to Eddie Brock and you have Venom.
