Eat A Peach and At Fillmore East (Deluxe Edition) came in the mail today. At Fillmore East is awesome. Definitely beats their studio stuff, although that stuff ain't shabby either.
I'm curious. I just got It Still Moves by My Morning Jacket. I've had Z for a while and while Z wasn't a full-fledged southern rock affair, I felt Jim James' vocals were very much influenced by southern rock and country singers and some of their songs on Z had some southern and country vibes. It Still Moves, on the otherhand, feels like an album full of southern rock and country sounds. James' vocals are haunting with a country sound. The songs themselves aren't "kick you in the stomach" southern rock like Skynyrd/Drive-By Truckers but reminds me (primarily because of the jam arrangements) of ABB. Anyway, I'm curious what everybody else thinks about My Morning Jacket and if they would be classified as Southern Rock.
