I'm gonna see it. For all the bad that happened that day, the story of these 2 is some of the good that came out of it. As bad as 9/11 was, there was a lot of good human stories to come out of it.

I just watched the HD trailer, I'd not heard much about the movie til this thread. I'll show this to my wife tomorrow after work. Chances are if she's willing, I'll go to the theatres to see this. Like Scott said, there was some good that came out of that day, and this is a story about a few good men going in and saving lives.

I also can somewhat understand the feelings/thoughts of those who live in and around NYC, and were there to witness it that day. I can only imagine what you went through that day seeing it up close and all. So I totally respect those who have no desire to see it. If I were in your shoes, I would probably feel the same way.

It's been almost 5 years & I just can't see myself going to see this. Every other week I'm in a building right next to where the Trade Center use to be & everytime I see that hole, It just makes me sad.

So many people died that day. I have friends who are still traumatized from actually being right in the area on their way to work.

To me it's a shame that a movie is being released before a single shuffle has even gone into the ground to rebuild that hole that sits on Church Street.

I will never forget having to walk from the Times Square area to the Bronx that dreaded day, because everything was shut-down. Not something I want to relive right now. I'm not ready..

If this movie can help bring some more closure to those families, then I hope it does.

The Adam Sandler one, or maybe the one I saw Jim Gaffigan promoting on some talk show. I think it's the 2nd one because I don't think the Adam Sandler one comes out until '07

It's called Empty City

Plot Outline: A man (Sandler) who lost his family in the September 11 attack on New York City runs into his old college roommate (Cheadle). Rekindling the friendship is the one thing that appears able to help the man recover from his grief.

The movie has a pretty good cast.

alittle early for me. the survivor stories afterwards were so publicized that it almost pales no comparison to other historic events in regards to exposure to what happened. throw in all that and the time frame it happened, and its filled with so much emotion.

ive seen enough survivor footage and tv coverage that week to last a lifetime.

I remember walking from my job on 55th and 6th to my wife's job, which was right across the street from the Empire State Building. At that point, there was still a plane that was unaccounted for, and when I got there, the manager had things running like normal. This pissed me off big time, and I made a big holler about why people were still being held here when you're right next door to one of the prime targets. We left and went back to my job, and the subways started running around 3:00.

Filmmakers working on Oliver Stone's upcoming 9/11 movie World Trade Center have slammed claims they are cashing in on the 2001 terrorist attacks, insisting the movie is about heroism. World Trade Center, which stars Nicolas Cage, tells the story the last two people found alive in the rubble of the collapsed twin towers, and their rescuer. Some relatives of people who died have spoken out against Stone's film, because they do not want to relive their initial pain following the attacks. But producer Moritz Borman says, "I know there is one widow out there who didn't want it to be made because she felt it was too painful to see her husband die. But I am convinced that when she sees it she will be resolved. We never went out to explore the whole story of 9/11 and its impact on America and the rest of the world. Nobody went into this film and thought this was the explanation for why 9/11 happened or its geopolitical impact. It's a tale of heroism."

its stirring up so much controversy on messageboards.. a gutsy move to release so soon it seems. could cause even more emotional distress to those families having to relive memorys and now the CTer's.

Lots of news sources say its a great movie. anyone have the monetary figures on this movie? i now 10% is going to the families. the rest i assume goes into cost and production and paying nicholas cage 3 million dollars to star in it

As long as some of that profit goes to the familes....I will go see it. For once the country came together as one after that tragedy. Here's to hoping it doesn't happen again in the near future....
