Let's face it — 24 simply ain't what it used to be. Granted, living up to last season's benchmark was a near-impossible feat, but still... this season has been lambasted by many for being highly derivative of "days" gone by and even harder to believe than expected. Addressing the backlash, executive producer Howard Gordon tells the Los Angeles Times, "It hurts to hear the criticism," then goes on to say that such words which haven't killed Jack Bauer will only make him stronger next time around. "It's been a challenging season to write... but it's reinvigorated our determination to reinvent the show," says Gordon. "This year could be... the last iteration of its current state

I hope they don't change the 24hr/1day format.

I wouldn't mind a prequel season. At least Tony and Nina Myers might return.

I just have a few hopes for the show;

1) Leave L.A.
2) Less love ****, more action
3) More Jack!
4) Resurrect David Palmer, Tony, and Michelle.

Number 4 is a reach.

Yeh killing Tony was a mistake, although it was his own fault cause he thought he was going to be a big movie start ala David Caruso (at least thats what I heard).

A prequel could be cool, I myself would prefer Jack on a Bourne Identity type crusade which could be set up because there are about 10 countries that are after him.

The 24 hour mode has got to stay though and they know it. Its as much a part of the show as Jack is.

Hold up....Entourage has better writing than 24?! I'm an Entourage-watcher, and I find that utterly laughable.

The problem with 24 is that they've just set the bar too damn high. It's not that this season is "horrible", we just expect too much considering what we had in the first five seasons.

The problem with 24 is that they've just set the bar too damn high. It's not that this season is "horrible", we just expect too much considering what we had in the first five seasons.

LOL, I pretty much just listed all the shows I watch.

But at this point I don't call what the 24 writers are doing this season writing...I'm calling it plagarism of themselves.

This is what they get for going for the feminine audience with all of this cheesy drama and drawn out soppy love stories and Jack is hardly seen in any action.

Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks 24 sucks right now. I'm done watching, its a freakin soap opera. The acting is god awful too. And the storyline/everything that happens is wayyyy unbelievable.

take down 6 terrorists and their leader after hanging on a bottom of a garbage truck for 10-15 minutes
give away government technology to their enemies
and rescue your drugged up girlfriend

all in one day??
