    B. It is a TV show, not real life. Do you think FBI agents go around trying to find Aliens(X-Files). Jesus, stop comparing real life with 24.
So me saying "six seasons is a decent run" means I think the show is over? Not hardly. I said it to mean that they've run their course of storylines in its six seasons. Doesn't mean it won't have its entertaining moments.

FBI agents don't hunt aliens, so I doubt they watch.

The stuff that they pass off commonplace on 24 is about as far from the truth as you can get from real life. I'm not saying you have to represent real life, but the show may as well try to say that you can fill a car up with water and it is as good as gasoline (yes, they exaggerate that much). It's a completely different.

What, exactly, is wrong with saying both?

      Get off your high horse.

FYI: Happy Days had a few good episodes even after Fonzie jumped the shark. Get over yourself.

Just to go along with your point about work being tied in and paying closer attention...

I can agree with that, not from my own personal experience, but during season 4 with the nuclear power plant plot my Dad could barely watch those episodes. Why? He works as one of the higher ups at a nuclear plant, and felt it was completely ridiculous to have that super-control pad to melt down reactors. He knows it could never happen, so he was more harsh during that...because he has real life experience with it.

So, I can see your point on that one.

I agree, it had a few moments this year where I thought it might be declining like last year, but IMO is much better than 5 and could be better than some past seasons.

I honestly think you decided to spin what you said.

This show has always been like this. CTU is drama central, The White House is in shambles, traffic in LA is basicly a non-factor, and Jack Bauer has super cell phone battery life.

I agree the show is far-fetched, and it has gotten to me before.

The very fact that you are allowing yourself to argue over the value of the show indicates you take it too seriously. It's TV. I feel the same way I do now about it as when I loved watching The A-Team. It's TV.

            Great show tonight.

I take it too seriously? Check the thread, I've always said that I check reality at the door when it comes to this show.

There are plenty of things that I can overlook, but when the acting, storylines, and writing start to suffer then it makes it harder and harder to accept the show for what it is.

Believe what you want. There were times I was entertained tonite and throughout this season and times when I wanted it to end.

You just seem on edge over the show entertaining you but yet suffering from bad storylines and acting. It's just an observation.

Heck, my wife told me I was "jaded" tonight because I felt the scene where the woman kills McCarthy was predictable. lol..jaded.

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)

One of the best two-hour sets of the whole series.

I think everyone really needs to stop, and suspend their disbelief. Yes, we have logic, and the show defies logic. We need to leave it at that, and enjoy the show for what it is.

It's intense, it's ridiculous. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING on TV is remotely close to the level that 24 is, and I don't want to sound like I'm on a high horse (because, obviously, I'm not), but I don't even need to watch anything else to come to that conclusion.

The show does a great job in showing that evil is everywhere, and we have to do anything and everything in our power to stop it.

I can't WAIT for next week.

How can you guys get so worked up over a tv show?

First it was games, now its this?

The realism thing has killed some of you guys enjoyment for any entertainment.

Hey fellas! Long time observer of this board here. I for one have to agree w/ TheMatrix on this one...great, thrilling episodes tonite. Like some of you, I thought this season was teetering on disaster a couple of episodes ago, but then last week's episode came along to set things straight. The scene where Jack simultaneously "interrogated" and "supported" his brother was just an amazing scene--one of 24's all-time best in my book.

I think what we have to realize--and admire--about this season is that we're not dealing with a corrupt govt., it's just a misguided govt. These guys think they are really gonna secure America, and they'll do so whatever the consequence (Constitution be damned). The writer's have taken a real-life situation (i.e., Bush's tapping of phones, etc.) and crafted it beautifully into the 24 universe. Think about it, if our govt. was willing to bend, alter, or do away with the laws our country was founded upon, we probably could make America more secure. The only problem w/that line of thinking is we would no longer be a free democracy, we'd be exactly the opposite, and the terrorists would win.

Anyway, about the toxicology report, Zephram Cochran didn't inject Jack's bro with more drugs, he injected air into the I.V. line, which would be MUCH harder to trace, making the cause of death trickier to calculate. I for one still think this show rocks and rocks hard! Just remember that if the show truly aspired to be accurate and realistic, it would lose alot of the drama and tension that makes it so unique and exciting. After all, real life--on TV--is boring.
