I'm guessing BD stands for Blue Ray Disc...

Seriously, I think the Prestige was good. I remember enjoying it and I liked the whole scenario with the "doubles."

Rereading the ending of the film, I realized why I didn't like the ending. While I enjoyed the "doubles" scenario, I did not like the idea behind twins. I think it made the ending less believable and acted as an easy way out of a twisted story.

Well, yes and no. I mean, what is your vision for an ending? The most important part of the ending was that Angier got what he deserved, and Borden saved his daughter.

Yes, I agree that what you mention helps tell the end of the actual story and plot.

But the extra story on the doubles is what motivated the plot. It's what gave the two magicians reason to push harder. It allowed the main plot to move forward.

It just seemed like a cop-out to me. Like here is this huge event that continues to pit these two men against each other but at the end it was all a trick. There wasn't anything exactly special really happening.

The main plot is what made the story good to me. It's why I enjoyed watching the movie. The side story that motivated the main plot was disappointing.

              Re: The Prestige

I want to see the Illusionist. I saw The Prestige and loved it. Every moment of the movie was complete greatness. However i didn't like the ending. I mean they could of gone a different way with the ending

              Spoiler

I mean i hated the clone idea. Thats probably the worst part of the movie. I mean they could of done something different with that. However Christain Bale having a Twin was a greay twist. Probably one of the best twist i've seen in a long while

              End Spoiler

After that problem, great movie. Also saw The Fountain, good movie as well. I walked away thinking to myself, Why can't Hugh Jackman keep a girl in his movies? X3, The Fountain and The Prestige. Sucks for him

The Prestige is simply awesome. Two huge thumbs up.
I agree. I really liked the Illusionist but I thought the Prestige was much better.

*spoilers* I thought that was what made the whole movie so perfect. The whole point of the movie, especially if you listen to the opening scene or dialog towards the end, is that magicians can take something ordinary and make it incredible. When in reality, exactly like you said, nothing special is happening. The whole movie is like a big magic trick.

I nodded in agreement to this statement. Didn't even consider that.
