Re: ***LOST Official Season 3 Discussion****
My thoughts exactly. Its bad enough we gotta wait 3 to 4 episodes to get 1 question answered, they consistently drop more question on us. Its almost a 3 steps foward, 20 steps back type of routine the writers dish us week to week.
I'm still hooked but dayum, give me some answers!!
SPOILERS
As for the first episode, it was kinda meh to me for that very reason. For instance, whats up with the bear cage they threw Sawyer in. Its obviously a cage for an animal but why? Why is it there? Why did they throw Sawyer in there? Whats with the food test and the escape attempt? For some reason, I think only 1 of those question will eventually be answered and the rest will be forgotten.
As for throwing Jack underwater in a glass mammal operating room or whatever that place was....its obviously a brain washing attempt they are tryna put on him but once again, dozens of more questions arise with the entire scenario.
Kate's part was a big WTF to me. I dont even want to go there.
Also, is it me, or is Jack becoming a powerfull actor. From the time he started till now, his range of emotion has gotten much better. Almost to the point where a successfull movie career can be in his future.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

That much I understand as well as the dolphin from earlier with the darhma logo but they still have yet to explain why they did testing on animals in the first place. And why are these animals running loose in the island anyway.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: ***LOST Official Season 3 Discussion****
I expected the episode to start like the premieres for seasons 1 and 2 started, with a closeup of Jack's eye. Only this time, it was Juliet's eye. Interesting. I think the two of them end up in a kind of star-crossed romance, much in the same way the real Juliet ended up loving someone from from another social group (Others vs Crash Survivors).
The more I think about the Dharma Initiative, the more I think they were some kind of utopian social experiment gone wrong. Hence their desire to acquire children untainted by society to raise within their utopian world. But the more I think about that explanation, the more disappointingly normal it all seems to me. There must be more to the Others than that. It's worth noting that they all seem exceptionally strong and most of them are well versed in psychology and mental warfare (like Juliet breaking Jack down last night).
The interesting thing about the Dharma Initiative to me is that they seem to have adapted to their surroundings and broken away from the original intent of their presence on the island, whatever that was or is. All the broken down videos and hatches seem to indicate that they've abandoned that life for their little settlement in the hills. But at the same time, they're still being funded by someone or something (hence the food drops, etc).
When they showed the Others looking up and seeing the plane crash, I was really hoping that they were in some kind of alternate reality that the plane was sucked through. Like maybe they were all sucked through some kind of dimensional vortex by the electromagnetic force that brought the plane down. Sadly, that theory was shattered when they panned away from the settlement and showed us that it was indeed on the island.
Lots of questions, few answers for me right now. Hopefully next week's episode takes us back to the hatch and the fates of Locke, Ecko and Desmond following last season's big explosion.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

I want to know more about those people in the snow that called Desmond's girl at the end of the last season after the hatch blew.
Atlanta Braves - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

If they never explain that, I'm gonna be POed. What point is it to end the season on a mysterious note if its going to be neglected at the start of the next season. These writers must be Quentin Terrintino fans.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: ***LOST Official Season 3 Discussion****
I'm guessing we're going to go back in time a bit as well, just like last year. When we left last season, they were on the dock weren't they? When this season started they were all seperated. I'm guessing we'll back track to see how they got there and what the rest of the survivors have been up to.Comment

Re: ***LOST Official Season 3 Discussion****
Ah, right. Good call.
I still think there's something going on with the commonality of experience that all these characters share. There's no way that all these characters' lives intersected with each other to the extent that they did prior to them all winding up on the same plane. Like Libby for instance - no way she was a patient in the mental hospital with Hurley and gave her late husband's plane to Desmond for his trip around the world. It's almost like their backgrounds have been artificially created, with different characters from the plane crash inserted into each of their collective experiences and backgrounds.
For that reason, I wonder if this all isn't some kind of dream or hallucination, brought about by the Others as part of some kind of social experiment.Last edited by Skerik; 10-05-2006, 10:30 AM.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: ***LOST Official Season 3 Discussion****
I think that Juliet no longer has respect for Ben, because once Jack threatened to kill her, Ben said, go ahead, but if you open that hatch, we will all die.
You saw the look Juliet gave Ben when he said go ahead? Once Jack says F it and starts to open the hatch Ben runs off, and locks the door on Juliet.
I say down the road she falls for Jack and turns on the others.Comment

Yea, you can kinda see that developing as well as Kate being with Sawyer in the future. He gave her his biscuit.
On another note, I read a reader response in the paper about Lost today. This woman said that she gave up on Lost simply because it was a JJ Abrams show. She said Alias(another JJ Abrams show) started off on a good note then quickly fell into the toilet due to mysteries being unresolved time and time again. She predicts Lost will have the same fate. Anybody care to comment on that?http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
