- One of the worst Lost episodes ever. 1hr of nothing. This was a complete throw away episode and I'm surprised this aired during Sweeps.
- I'm not sure if Jack's tattoo has any real meaning "He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us"

I really can't figure out what the three mysteries were.
I'm assuming one is Jack's tattoo. I didn't even know anyone cared about the tattoos. Well, I'm lying. I've seen it mentioned before, but only in crazy Lost fansites where people disect every color and shape of a freaking table. No one gives a crap about Jack's tattoo. And, besides, "He walks amongst us, but is not one of us" is the dumbest thing I needed to hear from the show. What the hell does that have to do with the show and him being on the Island? What does it solve?
I'm guessing the second is Cindy? Who in the world didn't know she was an Other by now? That's not a freaking mystery. People figured that crap out the second she was "kidnapped."
The third mystery...I have no clue what it could be. The kids? Where the Others really live? Ben being sick? Jack telling Juliette that Ben told him the same thing? Finding out that a plant can heal a wound?
As for the flashback, not that great. I didn't learn anything new about Jack. So he says the tattoos mean something different to him. Big whoop! Unless that girl ends up saving the Losties in a helicopter built by Hanso himself, how is that flashback important?

Just when I started pumping this show up to all my friends, going as far as saying it was better than 24 they throw that steaming pile of trash on us.
Okay, it wasn't that bad but didn't really do anything. That whole segment with Sawyer and Kate was trash though.
Why not incorporate our favorite characters Locke and Sayid into the show more? I would take Claire and Charlie over the Sawyer/Kate segment tonight.Comment

I actually thought of that. He wasn't on Jacob's list. And what the tattoos say (not what they mean) might suggest that he isn't even supposed to be on the island at all. There has to be some big clue that they've dropped with the tattoo subplot. I mean, they spent a whole flashback on it and it was the big payoff at the end of this episode. There's clearly more going on with them than meets the eye. But can we even know right now, or do we need to wait for their meaning to be played out in future episodes....Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Jack being Jacob? I don't know. Maybe if it was Prison Break then I would buy it, but I just can't see it for Lost.
I mean, Jack wasn't even supposed to live past episode one and now he's Jacob?
As for the tattoo, the only thing that makes sense for me is Jack's relation to the people he knows - the world outside of the Island.
He walks amongst those people, but is not one of them. He, perhaps, is in fact more suited for the life of an Other, rather than being a "normal" human being because he is not like regular people.
I think that makes more sense coming from the girl that says she sees Jack as a leader and great man.
I think the writers want us to think she was implying that Jack did not belong with the people of her island, but instead I think they are implying that he does not belong with the people of the Island the Losties have landed on. Am I missing something about "Jacob"? I know Karl mentioned it, and I just assumed it was something that was flashing before his eyes in the "Clockwork Orange" room.
