Re: Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes on DVD

Dave Chappelle's funniest skit on this DVD was when the fat guy was dying and was saying that he wasn't funny anymore.

This guy is best when he's not on the air.

Chappelle not being hilarious, and one of his skits where his bodyguard was shot, and as he was dying, he was telling Chappelle how his skits aren't funny anymore or something.

First of all, you should actually listen to what he was saying and second of all, you can't say whether he's funny or not from unfinished skits that probably wouldn't have even been put on tv if he finished the season. I guess Dave is too "colorful" for you. Maybe he should've played some guitar or talked about how evil rap is.

              Yes, perhaps.

When I say he's not funny, I'm not speaking for everybody. He just doesn't make me laugh, let alone crack a smile. Just because it's relevant to something and turned into a "black" version of it doesn't automatically make it funny.

But, again, that's just me. I'm not telling you that you shouldn't think that he's funny, and I hope that you understand that.

And I did listen to what he was saying. I just saw it a while back, and I don't exactly recall what he said.

Last I checked, blzer was black.

Anywho i'm not picking this up. I'm not a Dave Chappelle completist and well, this is really for completists. It's incomplete material that may be better off on the cutting room floor anyways.

                  I do like Chappelle tho.

Yeah he's black, although he seems to hate it.

I picked it up for $12, to complete the collection. The skits were OK; nothing extremely funny, but not too bad, either. Haven't watched the extras, yet.

I felt bad laughing when that happened. Also when he punted the baby.

I have to admit, I was once called a "Double-Stuffed Oreo".

I don't hate being black. As a matter of fact, I'm only half-black (my mom's white). I'm not racist or anything, so I don't know what you were going at here. The only thing I said was that just because Chappelle takes material and turns it into "black" comedy doesn't make it an automatic cue for people to enjoy it. I didn't say because he turns it into "black" comedy, it's not funny, good, or anything.

Now, I don't know what you mean by my hating to be "black". That could mean the skin color, or that I hate to be part of what is the stereotypical "poor, ghetto, black rapper livin' on tha streets in tha A-T-L"... man, I don't know, because I'm not like that. Chappelle LIKES to be like that, and since I don't like Chappelle (or rap), then I assume that that's what you're talking about. And I have no comment towards that.

As for Dave Chappelle, I just don't find him funny. And I've heard nearly ALL of his skits. I've seen all of his different characters in movies, too. Now, once again... just because I haven't laughed at his skits, doesn't mean, to the general population, that it's not funny. But I don't know where you go off saying that I hate being black because I said that.
