Actually, that was pretty funny (the Steve Barker part), but not on Chappelle's part for throwing him down... but the facial expression Barker had when he said, "Oh please, not the stairs" or whatever.

I don't hate being black. As a matter of fact, I'm only half-black (my mom's white). I'm not racist or anything, so I don't know what you were going at here. The only thing I said was that just because Chappelle takes material and turns it into "black" comedy doesn't make it an automatic cue for people to enjoy it. I didn't say because he turns it into "black" comedy, it's not funny, good, or anything.

That could mean the skin color, or that I hate to be part of what is the stereotypical "poor, ghetto, black rapper livin' on tha streets in tha A-T-L"... man, I don't know, because I'm not like that. Chappelle LIKES to be like that, and since I don't like Chappelle (or rap), then I assume that that's what you're talking about. And I have no comment towards that.

What the hell are you talking about? Dave Chappelle is furthest from whatever you were trying to call him and he doesn't turn things into "black comedy", which makes no sense anyway. What is black comedy? How does he turn things into black comedy?

As for you Blzer, You are the first person I've ever heard describe Chappelle as a "poor black rapper stereotype." For someone who claims to have seen every skit and movie, you dont really seem to know about him. Also, who the hell would watch every episode of Chappelle Show and every movie Chappelle's been in...if they HATE his comedy. I hate Jeff Foxworthy's comedy and you would never catch me watching evey stand up or show he's done.

I didn't mean that he's that type, but that's what he influences in his show for the most part.

And, if this guy is still a registered user here (Ads75), he may have made one or two posts... he's my friend that loves the show, and has nearly every DVD. He forces them down my throat, and then I get to get back at him by making him watch some of my things... but he normally likes them anyway.

Its not complicated...You are just wrong. LOL. That would be like saying that Jerry Seinfeld acts like a Dominican from the Bronx. Its clearly wrong. Also, how does someone force you to watch 25+ episodes of a show and 4 movies? LOL.

My last point is that in his 4 movies he's played drastically different people. He was a "def comedy jam" comedian in Nutty Proffessor. A pothead in "Half Baked". A black professional architect in thats Tom Hanks movie and he played himself in "Block Party". How is that a "rapper stereotype"

I wasn't just talking about this but his attitude towards rap and other things that have been discussed on here. There's nothing wrong with him not liking Chappelle either but the reasons he gave for not liking seem to have come from him watching some other guy or something. I honestly don't know whether he actually thinks that Dave is trying to be a "poor ghetto rapper", he didn't actually watch the show, or if he just has no idea what he's talking about.

I think I was just misunderstood when I posted what I did, but I also realize (after having read it again) that I posted almost the exact opposite of what the intent of my post was supposed to be. I guess I'm trying to give a reason for not liking the show, when there's no actual discrete reason. It's just some lurking variable... something in this show, and other shows, that I just can't get into. For instance... South Park, Mad TV, and even Clerks.

But I like Family Guy.
