I agree. While I didn't think The Departed was that great (6-7 out of 10 in my book), it was better than some of the other rubbish I've seen.

Just saw the movie. It's no way comparable to the original. They tweaked the plot alot and i was disappointed with it.
If anyone has seen infernal affairs, i think u'd agree with me. the cast alone for the departed prob got the most hype.

did anyone else feel it wasnt up to par with IA or am i just crazy?

I really really liked this movie. I agree about DiCaprio. He has turned into a really really good actor. The cast as a whole did a really good job. I thought Wahlberg was unintentionally hilarious. Every time he would go into a profanity-laced tirade, I couldnt help but laugh.

I just got back from seeing it tonight and I loved it.

The cranberry juice scene was great. DiCaprio left me very impressed.
