Re: Saw III
By the way, this is completely speculation, but I talked to a guy that works at Blockbuster, and their computer was given a Saw III (Rated) DVD release of 1/23/07 the day after Saw III came out. As that may have just seem random before official, it turns out to have been true. Now, even though the Uncut DVD has yet to be announced, their computer has ALSO recently slated an Uncut DVD announcement of 1/23/07 also! Let's hope this is true!!!
Let's hope for the Unrated DVD to come out January '07!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Saw III
First night.
I already saw the Unrated DVD, though. My friend works at Blockbuster and he called me to come watch one of the extras that they had with him at the counter haha.
* * * * * * SPOILERS FOR NEW THINGS IN UNRATED DVD * * * * * *
- It's about 5 minutes longer. The Special Edition DVD coming out this October will be about 40 minutes longer.
- The opening scene with Eric Mathews shows three more bashes to the foot than before. No sound enhancements.
- Troy has a few better shots of him releasing the chains off of his body. You get to watch the skin just tear off!
- In that same crime scene Kerry blames herself for losing Eric to Rigg.
- Kerry's death scene has a front-shot of her rib cage ripping instead of a back shot.
- Danica's freezer scene is a bit longer in the shower she gets before she freezes... makes it a little more believable that she ended up freezing in that time than the 10 seconds that it took in the Rated version.
- No changes to the operation. Sorry, guys.
- Tim's "rack" trap is edited much different all over the place. Instead of the arm/leg/arm/leg/head sequence, it's arm/arm/leg/leg/head, and you just get to watch them all twist (except the head, I guess... you get the after-effect). There are many more shots outside of that, like shots of Jeff watching him, getting the key, etc.
- The prelude to the Eric/Amanda confrontation is much different, and you can really feel Amanda's fear of him escaping. The shots of his foot are just gross as well.
- There is a dialogue change when Amanda tries to come in contact with John after his operation. Instead of Lynn saying, "Don't touch him; you're only making it worse", she says, "He can't hear you; he doesn't even know you're there."
- And the WORST PART OF IT ALL!!! Remember in the end where Lynn's head is blown off, we see a shot of her head (or lack thereof), Jeff screaming, and then final shots of John? Well, now it just ends on Lynn's blown off head! If you guys understand the power of John dying, then you would agree that this just makes for a terrible ending! I'm seriously all for dramatic power in movies, and this one cut alone almost makes me want to go out and buy the theatrical version!
* * * * * * END SPOILERS * * * * * *
These are the only things that I can remember. I saw it once, after having seen Saw III four times in theaters. So, sorry if I forgot anything. There may be other little things here and there, and there's a good chance that you guys may not have recognized any but two of these changes... but I'm just posting them just so you guys are aware (if you want to know).
I'm just dying for the Special Edition DVD though.
I really don't want a Saw IV. I am not seeing it; and you guys already know that I'm the biggest Saw fan on here. So, if it's bad, don't allow it to make you hate the series or say that it ruined it or anything. Instead, be like me, and just pretend that it never existed.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

This movie was still such a huge letdown. I'm only getting it because I'm a completest.Comment

Re: Saw III
Geez! I just watched a clip of the fellow in the chains (Troy I think) and that was tough to look at. I enjoyed the first 2 and will most likely pick this up on the 23rd.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Re: Saw III
I consider Saw III as a movie that completed a trilogy. If this movie was built to have a sequel, IMO, they should have went a completely different direction with the movie. But I feel that it was built for closure, which gives it power and value, etc. If Saw IV is a direct sequel to Saw III, Saw III loses its power and becomes and inferior movie in my eyes. So, Saw III obviously comes with a package for me, and this is a legitimate reason for me to not want to see Saw IV.
