Just got done watching it with my sister and girl and I must say, it is one of the top 5 movies of all time. When they both are against blood and gore, but watch this movie with interest from beginning to end, then you know it's a good movie. I'm interested in reading more about history now. Sifting through the pages, never knew that Xerxes was Darius' son. The same Darius that became ruler over Babylon in the Bible. Man, it's a pretty interesting history this world has.......

I RECOMMEND EVERYONE WATCH THIS MOVIE!!

Trust me, I agree. I was going to go see it tonight on the only Digital projector in town, but it didn't start until almost 11 and I'm not down with that, especially when I have to get up early tomorrow.

My ghetto town finally got it this weekend so I went tonight (for $1) and thought it was killer.

The quotes from this movie will go down in man movie infamy.

Bringing this one back from the dead. I stayed home last night and chilled out. I actually watched this for the first time. Good flick. I understand all of the quotes people have used now. Had no idea that Faramir from the LOTR movies and the chick from the Terminator tv show was in it. I thought the portrayal of Xerxes was a little odd. He came off as being 7 feet tall and somewhat homo. I guess maybe you can't have someone matching the height of Leonidis leading an army of 1 million? Anyway, definitely enjoyed the movie. I read up on the Battle of Thermopylae afterwards. Very interesting reading.

I enjoyed driving down our shopping strip one day in the Summer, and some guy was doing the holding the going out of business sign for some store dressed as a Spartan/Roman soldier. I seriously enjoyed yelling things at him like: "Today.... I'll shop... IN HELL!!" and "These are not savings!! These... are... BARGAINS!!!"

it's because the whole movie was being told by the narrator. The persians were made to look like monsters because of his point of view.

Duh on my part. I knew there was a narrator but really didn't think about putting the two together.

From what I've heard, the Immortals were not ghastly/beastly looking people at all. In fact, they were supposedly some of the best fit and most attractive guys.
