Oh well, can't please everyone. Someone is bound to be offended by it, just like anything else. I highly doubt most even thought twice about even connecting Persia and Iran after seeing the movie anways.

Saw the movie again last night as well, and it was just as awesome as the first viewing. The visuals are just amazing, especially **SPOILER** when Leonidas is about to die, and he stands as the arrows pour down on him and the rest of his soldiers **END SPOILER**.

Just may need to make a third trip to the theater later this week

I went to see this last night and was blown away. Incredible visuals and a story that kept you on the edge of your seat for the entire film.

Wow, I just picked up the graphic novel of 300 at B. Dalton at the mall. It was quite expensive (on sale 20% off for $24), but well worth it. I've never really been into comics or graphic novels, so this is a first for me aside from a few older Superman comic books. However, '300' is very cinematic graphic novel (obviously), and it's amazing to see how some of the shots from the movie were taken almost perfectly from the novel. For example, when Leonidas tricks the wolf and stabs it, the shot in the novel is almost identical to the one in the movie.

Definitely recommend this to anyone else who is interested in picking up the novel. I think I may start picking up more of Miller's work. Maybe some Sin City when I get a little extra cash.

If you guys haven't yet, I recommend you see History Channel's "Last Stand of the 300." It's a great documentary and shows a broader view of the war and not just the battle at Thermopylae. It's also great for accuracy nuts out there and you can easily see what Frank Miller did to make the graphic novel (and the movie, effectively) more exciting/cool.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a more realistic version of 300, assuming it's done well.

two questions about the graphic nocel

1. does the novel have the same bronish hue to everything?

2. Is it like a comic book with word ballons or like a literal book? (don't know what graphic novels are)

I just got into reading comic books recently when a friend let me read FM's 300...I loved it, he also let me borrow one called "30 nights" its like a vampire story where they take over a town in Alaska so they dont have to hide in the day. I really enjoyed both, really good stories, artwork, mature content...Im gonna start looking into more myself.
