Anyone else thinks Xerxes looks like Dhalim from Street Fighter?

Re: Frank Miller's 300
Yes, Dhalsim was the first thing I thought when he came on screen.
I thought the movie was fun. It looked great and just moved along nicely. Plus, the audience was fun to watch with because we were having a blast. I never read the comic and I forgot almost everything I learned about Ancient Greece in high school, so it was nice to watch it not knowing the outcome.
See it.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: Frank Miller's 300
Having been a fan on this battle for sometime, of course the movie wasn't historically accurate. It showed the Spartans in the Phalanx formation just at the very beginning. After that, ya..they were kinda Ramboing it the rest of the time. Had the real Spartans broken up and went "1 on 1" against those odds, they wouldn't have lasted a day. That formation, the terrain, and the Spartans training and discipline...who knows how much longer they could've lasted if they weren't sold out.Last edited by Laettner32; 03-10-2007, 09:23 PM.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Ya! I agree! It would get old seeing them clustered up hidden by shields and only the spears poking out. But imagine what kinda meat grinder that was...all that blood, and dead bodies.Comment

Re: Frank Miller's 300
I thought the battles looked amazing. But I wouldn't have minded one bit if they kept them behind their shields and, as you said, kept it was that 'meat grinder'. I think it's pretty savage to see them just killing them like that.Comment

And then they wonder why people consider American movies pure garbage. It's too predictable."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Which is why producers continuously ruin movies. Producers did the exact same thing with "We Are Marshall." Changing the ending of the final game to make it more dramatic.

Re: Frank Miller's 300
I don't mean to say it ruined "300".
I mean to say that producers ruin movies overall.
I agree with the decision over "300" because as was mentioned it's based on a graphic novel, which should never be taken with true historical significance. I also realize that the movie, even if it weren't based on a graphic novel, is meant to be an adaptation of a historical event told in a fictional sense."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. I do wonder why they are always changing things in movies that are based on books or true stories though.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
