Yes, Dhalsim was the first thing I thought when he came on screen.

I thought the movie was fun. It looked great and just moved along nicely. Plus, the audience was fun to watch with because we were having a blast. I never read the comic and I forgot almost everything I learned about Ancient Greece in high school, so it was nice to watch it not knowing the outcome.

        See it.

Having been a fan on this battle for sometime, of course the movie wasn't historically accurate. It showed the Spartans in the Phalanx formation just at the very beginning. After that, ya..they were kinda Ramboing it the rest of the time. Had the real Spartans broken up and went "1 on 1" against those odds, they wouldn't have lasted a day. That formation, the terrain, and the Spartans training and discipline...who knows how much longer they could've lasted if they weren't sold out.

One of the producers said that they intentionally changed the formation to make it look cooler.

Ya! I agree! It would get old seeing them clustered up hidden by shields and only the spears poking out. But imagine what kinda meat grinder that was...all that blood, and dead bodies.

I thought the battles looked amazing. But I wouldn't have minded one bit if they kept them behind their shields and, as you said, kept it was that 'meat grinder'. I think it's pretty savage to see them just killing them like that.

Which is why producers continuously ruin movies. Producers did the exact same thing with "We Are Marshall." Changing the ending of the final game to make it more dramatic.

And then they wonder why people consider American movies pure garbage. It's too predictable.

Quality movie. I threatened to yell "Spartans" a few times after the movie when we went out to eat.

The History Channel is always on if you want it. I'll take the better cinematic scene than a true to life historical one.

Don't see how that ruined the movie...at all. If ANYONE went into it thinking it'd be a perfectly historical representation...I'm sorry but they're lacking common sense. It's based off a graphic novel, which is based off historical events. It's not a 100% factual representation.

I don't mean to say it ruined "300".

I mean to say that producers ruin movies overall.

I agree with the decision over "300" because as was mentioned it's based on a graphic novel, which should never be taken with true historical significance. I also realize that the movie, even if it weren't based on a graphic novel, is meant to be an adaptation of a historical event told in a fictional sense.

This movie was based on a comic that wasn't a historically accurate depiction of what happened.

I do wonder why they are always changing things in movies that are based on books or true stories though.
