Well I'm going to see it at 5 with my girlfriend. I forced her to go since she forces me to watch Americas Next Top Model and **** like that. I can't wait to see it.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

      Re: Frank Miller's 300

Saw it at 11:15 and it was really good. It went by really fast. Cant tell you much than what all yall already know, it is what it is in the trailers...nothing really bad about it, the only thing that got kinda old was how many times Leonidas yells either "Spartans!! or Sparta!!...like every other sentence...and if that is the worst I can think of it just shows how good a "guy movie" it is, btw ... the queen is really hot!

      SPOILER ALERT!!

A couple of the freaks that the persians bring in to fight the Spartans...kinda like bosses in videogames are a little over the top...I mean one guy has lobster arms?!?

The ending is really good, when it shows the Persian army, and the full Spartan army...thousands of Spartans!! that looked really cool!

        Re: Frank Miller's 300

        I say a 1:00 showing of it today...and I LOVED IT.

I seriously felt it lived up to all the hype. Sure it's not anything that's going to win awards for acting, but it is just an amazing visual experience and overall GREAT movie experience. That's all I want when I go to the movies. I will definitely be seeing it again very shortly.

        Thanks,
        DaHokieBird

would anyone who saw it be willing to say it revolutionized action films or overall just plain films?

I can't say that it's revolutionary, seeing that The Matrix has already had this type of slow-down and camera panning, Sin City has had these kinds of cinematics and color effects, etc., and movies like Lord of the Rings have had massive battles such as this as well. But they really combined all of these elements and took them to the next level, which is good. But nothing revolutionary.

However, like I said in my impressions... there is a one shot sequence in a battle scene that will just blow you away! Unfortunately, it won't be recognized quite like the bullet-dodge in The Matrix, but to me, it deserves to be.

That's okay, I'll just say it here with a spoiler tag.

                    * * * * SPOILER WARNING * * * *

The side-shot one of King Leonidas that starts with him throwing the spear; then he takes his sword and just kicks *** the rest of the way. The one with the captain and his son was pretty kick-*** as well, but it was nothing like the Leonidas one.

That was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I can't wait to get it on dvd.

Did the guy who played King Leonidas remind anyone of Russell Crowe's character from Gladiator?

Yes... I told my friends the same exact thing. Great performance by all the actors.

And I have to agree with you, this movie is one of the best I have seen. I will go watch it again sometime this week and cannot wait for it to released either.

Good lord....one word....breathtaking! The most badass, adrenaline pumping, awesomely gruesome movie I have ever seen. This is THE ultimate guy movie.

I think I had goosebumps literally throughout the entire movie. I'll be seeing this at least one more time in theaters.
