I kinda did. But I'll go a little deeper. First, if you re-watch his audition (much less pressure), he had a great voice. Definately better than most of the guys. Secondly, in his performances he's on pitch almost perfectly. Where he lacks is stage experience and confidence.

Once again, if you re-watch the audition, he was (and probably still is) of the opinion that his sister is the best singer he's ever heard and is leaps and bounds ahead of him. (I think she has a lot to do with that opinion too). So, he's always taken the back seat to someone he's a lot better than and just ok.

Also, he's like 16, sheltered and is scared of his own shadow. Add it all up and stick him in front of a studio audience on live television with MILLIONS of viewers and he ****s his pants. When a performer is out there singing scared, he melts away which is what happened in his last performance. Plus, he has no idea of his own identity. His sister picked his first song (which was horrible) and probably picked his second. He's singing horrible songs.

He's got no shot in this competition, I agree. Not because of talent (although he's not really good enough to win the whole thing anyway), but because of charisma, confidence and stage presense.

There is no technically about it, he's not a great singer. He's a lounge singer, or a wedding singer. He's no star.

Hmmm. I don't recall saying he was a great singer, or a star...

I did say he had a great voice, which is different.

I agree with BigRed. Sanjaya does have a good voice, but he is just way too meek about everything. If he ever grew some confidence and pushed his voice out with some conviction, more people would see it.

That said, I absolutely cannot bear to look at him for another moment, and he is in no way ready to be on this show. I can't wait to see him get shown the door, and the fact that he has already outlasted 4 of the guys is pathetic. He could be gone next week unless he pulls a great, out of nowhere performance out of his arse.

I don't disagree with the opinion that he has a good voice. I disagree with the opinion that he "technically" is one of the best singers.

I think he'll still be there regardless. He has got the teenybopper vote locked up.

I used the word "technically" because the techniques of his voice, (i.e., pitch, tone, pace, etc.) are all sound. If you put the guy in a bathroom by himself, he'd be flawless. Like when he auditioned.

It's not the "techniques". It's his confidence and stage presense.

"Techniques" do not make a "great" singer. Nor do they make an American Idol.

Yeah I know what you meant, and I still disagree. I feel like you could put anybody (except Antonella lol, just anti-Antonella)) in a bathroom and they'd sound flawless too if that is what you wanted to hear. I still think he has a good voice, just good though.

I don't know about Sundance. I'm pulling for the guy and I like when he sings stuff like that, but I'm afraid he's a one trick pony. Blake is the guy to beat, followed by either Chris or Brandon, that is if Brandon just lets go and quits showing off his "heart".

LOL. "And I like puppies" is quite possibly the funniest Simon Cowell line EVER.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD RETURNS TO AMERICAN IDOL TO PERFORM HER NEW HIT WASTED THURSDAY, MARCH 8, ON FOX

Two-time Grammy Award winning Carrie Underwood returns to the AMERICAN IDOL stage this week, performing her new hit Wasted on the results show Thursday, March 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).

Nice to see unlike Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, Carrie isn't "too big" for American Idol.

Heh, too bad I'm watching 300 that night.

Anyway, I've been out of the American Idol thing since the auditions (unintentionally). Who looks to be the potential(s) as of now? I've seen every audition, so I know who everybody is... so if you guys could just say the names some of your favorites, that would be cool.

American Idol really has some terrible singers. I don't know what the judges were listening to when they picked them.

Just watched tonight's episode on DVR.

The guys suck this year. Blake Lewis is a fun performer, Chris Sligh has a nice voice, but all in all....terrible. Hardly worth watching.

yeah totally agree. That was cool hearing a 311 song and blake pulled it off well. I like Chris Richardson too i think he can do well in the competition.
