Hahaha, Sanjaya is creeping me out.

Oh yeah, here's Paula on Letterman. There's a small part about the whole votefortheworst.com thing, as well the Corey Clarke thing. It was funny how Letterman just came out and asked her about it.

I happened to catch parts of the 9-10 hour tonight during commercials while watching "The Unit." Saw Sanjaya's sister bouncing up and down a few times. I said it in this thread during the audition part, and I'll say it again, she's smokin'.

Yeah he really brings something new to the competition and does it pretty well.

It's amazing what a little solid tutoring and advice does for these contestants. Prior to tonight's show, I would have said this year's crop of talent was the worst in Idol history. But Peter Noone and Lulu really made everyone better across the board. Except, of course, Sanjaya whose performance was appallingly awful.

Melinda and Lakisha already knew how to choose songs, how to mean the words they sing, how to perform, etc. So the mentoring didn't help them as much as it did everyone else, who couldn't do all that on their own without help. But those two really did a great job and they elevated everyone's level of performance across the board. Tonight's show was actually worth watching from start to finish, and I couldn't say the same for last week's.

Except Sanjaya. The folks at "Vote for the Worst" consider John Stevens' version of "Crocodile Rock" the worst performance in Idol history. But I really think Sanjaya's performance tonight vaulted him straight to the top (bottom?) of that list. Absolutely horrendous with no redeeming value whatsoever.

Agreed, not only was it dreadful it was pretty embarrassing and just plain ridiculous. I'm saddened and dismayed to say I will have that performance forged into my memory for the next week or two.

Well after seeing the show tonight,I really hope Sanjaya get's the boot.
Not only did he butcher a classic song, his actions also showed (imo) he could care less.
I also liked when Seacrest interviewed Peter Noon, and Noon stated that "this isn't a singing competition,it's a voting competition" (something to that effect) the look on Simon's face was priceless,he looked kind of ...upset at that comment.

I think it's bad for AI to have America cast the votes. I feel it's more based on popularity than talent,as an example....a couple of years ago that clown Costantine?? c'mon that guy was awful and was only put through because of the female votes.
The same trend seems to be happening again this year with Sanjaya.

Here are my cut's prediction's for the next 3 weeks (in no particular order)
                1-Sanjaya
                2-Phil Stacy
                3-Gina Glockson
I think the "no way cut" will be Lakisha, and it will come down between Melinda and Jordin.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I am glad my wife changed the channel.. i can't watch American Idol anymore. Season 1 I was all in for it, but it died quickly after I felt that it isn't who america votes for..... I can't believe my wife staryting watching ti again. her first time since maybe season 2 or 3.

I couldn't stop laughing when they kept showing that girl crying during Sanjaya's performance. That was the only thing that kept me from changing the channel.

I'm very proud of AZ's girl Jordin Sparks, she's killing it right now and picking great songs...it's gonna be a tough race with Melinda and Lakisha.

While I agree with you overall remember the show is American Idol, not America's greatest singer. It should be based on America voting because that is what the show is about, finding a star America likes, not necessarily the best singer. But don't worry about Sanjay, he won't win just like Constantine didn't win.

I was laughing the entire time Sanjaya was on the stage. I couldn't help it. That was one of the worst performances I've ever seen on the show.

Also, what was up with that little girl crying? She was crying at the beginning of the show, during the show and at the end.

The crying girl was one of the strangest things I've ever seen on television. I think she was either a Fox plant to reflect the "Beatlemania" atmosphere of British Invasion Week like the girls in the Ed Sullivan theater cried when the Beatles performed, or there was something mentally wrong with her.

I liked when Chris Sligh was walking through the audience and went past her. He looked down at her while he was singing like, "WTF...."
