Melinda did look better tonight. Lakisha has done better, Phil did better, but I am pretty sure he or Chris (who didn't do too well tonight) will be leaving unless you know who properly gets booted tomorrow.
    PS: You guys are great.

Sanjaya has got to go. If not, then I hope its Chris.

Ok.....after tonights performance, here's my prediction for the bottom 3.
        (in no particular order)
        1-Sanjaya- absolute terrible performance
        2- Lakisha-her worst performance
        3-Chris - same as Sanjaya

        The one who goes home...........Chris

It seems (to me) that he was only trying to save grace and play to the emotions based on his lackluster performance.

Why would you guys say that? The guy is from the area, if he didn't say anything it would have been asinine.

That very well may have been his intent.I'm not saying what he did WAS wrong.
I'm just saying that WHEN he did it (after being ripped by the judges) seem like he was going for the "emotion" vote.

I agree. Bad performance by sanjaya. I was just shaking my head after he finally finished and it went to a commercial because I knew how bad it was. After going back and rewatching it I thought he started out good, but he really butchered the chorus a few times. It was too kareoke (sp?). However, just like "aint no mountain high enough" Im willing to bet his studio recorded version thats released tonight on americanidol.com will probably be pretty good (at least to my standards). I figure he'll be eliminated tonight because I voted a few times and got ZERO busy signals (usually theres tons), but im not jumping off the wagon and I really hope he stays another week.

Melinda and Lakisha I just dont care about. They do nothing for me. Jordin is good, but similar to sanjaya's hatred from people, everyone at work and my family is hyping Jordin so much that its getting on my nerves and Im rooting against her for that reason alone. Phil I thought stole the show. Coming from a country fan he did really good. I really liked Blakes performance as well. Richardson is really take it or leave it. Wasnt the best, wasnt the worst.

                  >Sanjaya amazes me. How he even got this far is still beyond me AND millions of other Americans. Simon was right on the money when he said if this was a basic audition all over again-he'd be gone quick. Acting should be his direction-because he acts like he can sing!

I haven't read anything but the last page of this thread today and YES, Chris Richardson's timing was awful. He seemed like he was going for the "emotion" vote (I guess we can call it that) and even if he wasn't, it reeked of capitalizing on the tragedy (or trying to in some way).

Idol should've opened with a comment about it and how everyone involved feels for the families, victims, etc. or like Simon did at the end, a little heartfelt "we're thinking of you" kind of thing.

I yelled, "F____ YOU!" at the TV as soon as he said it. It came off horribly...

I think Simon's eye rolling was at this kid thinking he was using the statement to get votes, that's all.

He finally really butchered a song enough to get you to see the light! Actually I can kinda see why he won't get much votes this week. I dunno, to me he's a media creation in some respects and a guy that got votes based on "oh it's cool/so funny to vote for this guy" but after recent events I think that might've taken the wind out of his sails.

I knew he'd do horribly singing Brooks & Dunn.

                            I must've missed that.

I still think Chris picked the wrong time to say something. Tonight (when he's in the bottom three) would've been the night to say something...but it wasn't even necessary to begin with. Especially since they DID say something about it (where was I?).
