You're onto something there. Of course, we had Candlebox and Bush and the inexplicable Ugly Kid Joe in the early nineties - paving the way for Creed a few years later. Though Nickelback may have released an album in the nineties, their rise to chart topping Spiderman success is more a sign of this sad decade than the last, so you should save your Blame Canada tirade for "The Best of the 00s" thread.

And you wanna know how deep Recovering the Satellites is? "A Long December" is one of the weaker tracks on the CD. I'm still partial to August & Everything After though, it simply gets no better than "A Murder of One."

It goes without saying that 1-10 are Ace of Base songs. There's just too many classics to choose from to actually make a list though..

Not that I'm a big fan, but I didn't realize 50 cent was around in the 90's.

Debuted in '97 as Jam Master Jay's (of RUN-DMC) lil protege. He didn't get big until Eminem signed him and said he was a favorite rapper. He was just a little mixtape MC for a while, I remember chucking to myself when he blew up.

It's a comical example of how stupid a majority of mainstream rap fans are, lil sheep who follow whatever is fed to them.

                          You kinda made my point!
Well, rap didn't truly explode until the deaths of Biggie and Tupac, but you can't deny how crazy the East/West Coast battle was and how huge Dre/Snoop/Pac were and how Wu-Tang had a cult-like following, and then Biggie came after. No one cared about Nas til '96. Plus hip-hop easily had '96 til the end of the decade on total lock, mainstream and otherwise.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" HAS to be on any list. It was the song that launched a musical revolution in 1991.

Any GNR song in the 90's were tops for me. That band was special lol.

Coma is still one of my favorite. Especially the ending of the songs.
