This would answer any criticism by people who say UFO's are fake because why would aliens travels billions of miles simply to fly around a bit and go back. Kinda makes sense to me.

This doesn't agree with the dual time machine thoery but thousands(or even millions) of years from now who knows what humans will look like and what advancements they've made. It's hard to believe but it still makes you think.
That is interesting, though I have a hard time believing that simply being here wouldn't affect the future in some way.

Someone that might have seen a UFO sighting could be driven to find the source of that sighting and you never know what that person could discover if they had the money and backing (assuming the time travel theory is correct).

Simply being seen could alter the future in some ways.

This is a real kick-*** theory. Never heard anything like it. From what we have learned or think we know of time travel, we could possibly alter the future if we were to make contact with the past.

But if it's the past then you would have always been here anyway so what you did just made your future what it should have been. If you could actually change the future then there would be no point in traveling at all since like you said, simply being there would change the future.

Sooo.... we will never see someone from the future until we create a time machine that actually works, right? They'd have no way of getting back....

Sounds pretty kooky to me. Mike is right though... there would be complete anarchy... constant changing of the past... to allow for parallel universes that would only continue to multiply as time goes on...

            Damn.

Ok, I see what you're getting at.

But, doesn't that go against everything we've been saying about time travel?

If going to the past is what a person from the future was supposed to do anyway, then why worry about speaking to those people?

It was supposed to happen so you couldn't actually alter anything.

                Damn.
I was thinking about this and I started to wonder who this will actually affect.

If several parallel time lines were being created then the original one would still be around. So, traveling back in time will become an experiment for the person doing the time traveling. The only one knowing the changed outcome would be the person trying to achieve a certain future.

The end result would be a world of people living their own new time lines and continuously going back and forth till they reach a satisfactory one or die in the process.

Anarchy would only be in the eyes of the traveler. If I'm not satisfied with my current position (because someone altered it), I could just travel back in time and create a new parallel time line that fits what I want.

The question no one has brought up yet is what interests me the most, though. Assuming you believe in God and heaven, how does this sort of time travel affect the End of Times?

And even if you don't believe in God, I invite you to discuss it because it could become an interesting paradox between time ending and people jumping back and forth to seemingly prevent it. How could God act in several different parallel time lines?

edit: eh, perhaps we could avoid that. I forget that any discussion about religion is first and foremost forbidden here and secondly only eventually brings up ridiculous arguments.

But, doesn't that go against everything we've been saying about time travel?

If going to the past is what a person from the future was supposed to do anyway, then why worry about speaking to those people?

It was supposed to happen so you couldn't actually alter anything.
Do you mean speaking to the future person or speaking to someone from the past? If someone from the future knew that something happened that sparked a revolution in terms of science or anything else(maybe time travel) and they went back to the past to see it, they may realize or may not realize that they were the ones who actually inspired someone to think differently about time, space travel, whatever. I don't know if I'm really making sense though so if you have a specific question about what I said just ask and I'll try to make it clearer.

                    I think you're making sense.

You're saying that the person from the future will travel back in time. A person from the past will see that future traveler.

Peron from the past will be inspired to study about time travel. Now, that person from the future will know that his simple visit might have been the reason for the birth of time travel.

Is that what you're getting at?

If so, then my response is it wouldn't matter if the person from the future spoke to the person from the past. Apparently, the future traveler was supposed to travel back to the past to inspire time travel. They didn't alter anything. They only made what was supposed to happen actually happen.

If that's the case, then shouldn't all time travel be like this? If in the year 2010 I could travel back to the year 1950 then right now as of the year 2006, I already made my travel back to 1950. Someone from 1950 is living right now knowing or not knowing that he saw me over 50 years ago.

He was a staunch non-believer in aliens landing from another planet but near the end of his life after seeing enough evidence that couldn't be explained he still thought that it was virtually impossible for aliens to visit from distant galaxies but thoerized that whatever sightings that seemed concrete was much more likely to originate from beings visiting from our distant future. This would explain why there is never an attempt by these beings to contact or interact with anyone and are simply observing things because any interaction may alter thier present world.

Well, this theory hinges on what you believe, currently. If you believe that the ancient Egyptians made contact and were in fact taught by other world beings, then this theory falls flat on its face, if you don't then this theory could possibly make sense. It seems to me there is more evidence to support that the ancient world made contact with other worldly beings. Which make this theory of "time travel observation" less possible.

Thats some good stuff. Its as if the future cant be altered because whatever happened in the past is sopposed to happen anyway, correct? So what does it mean to create alternate paralell time lines? How would one be created? If everytime I went to the past, a alternate universe was created, is it an alternate universe only to me or is it everyones alternate universe?

Kinda confusing but meh..look at what we're talking about.

Because they had alot of unexplainable phenomenons up until recently. I just think they were some smart mofos. I think mankind is capable of anything. You never know, if alot of the principles and teachings of our current society are abolished or completely 'lost' or 'forgotten' within the next 1000 years, who's to say that the future society wont wonder how we made skyscrappers and automobiles and how our religion was and the like. This is what I think happened to the egyptians. They're teachings were lost throughout the centuries and we forever wonder how they accomplished all they did accomplish.
