Re: Any unknown/unsigned bands you guys like?
Seems kinda odd cause I've known about Tech N9ne for a year or two now and I knew he didn't have a big record deal, but for whatever reason I thought he had some more going for him than he apparently does.
HourCast is from Boston(in original post), they are an AWESOME band. Their cd is amazing.
Resin is another Mass. rock band that gets no recognition and their music is pretty damn nice. http://www.myspace.com/resinband
Seemless - stoner rock/southern metal. http://www.myspace.com/seemless
Bipolar - AMAZING!!!!! They have a similar sound to Shinedown, but better musicianship, and the singer, Patrick Michaelis MAY be the best rock singer alive. http://www.myspace.com/bipolarrocks
Hurt - metal/rock/acoustic crossover band. Amazing lyrics and musicianship. J Loren is also one of the best around at what he does(vocals). http://www.myspace.com/hurt
Crash Midnight - Rock band from Boston. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=14997437
Beautiful Creatures - 90's metal band. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...iendid=5876459
- I was impressed by Hurt and I'll definitely be looking into them some more.
- Bipolar, well I liked the sound a little, so I'll give them a few more listens (although it's gotta be tough on a band to be trying to break through when one of your founding members dies)
- Resin I kinda liked, but it was a bit to calm for my tastes I guess (for a rock band).
- Seemless has a familiar sound that I can't really put my finger on for some reason. I like it, but at the same time it feels like I've heard it before
Also, I honestly have no idea how much exposure they have gotten, but Black Stone Cherry is a pretty good Southern rock-type band from Edmonton, KY. I have their first debut + 2 songs they put on a single and they have some very catchy tunes.Comment

Re: Any unknown/unsigned bands you guys like?
Plus Tech has an insane live act from what I've heard. He puts it all out there for his fans. He is constantly on tour. I think he does over 100 shows per year. He raps about it in his new album about how much the road takes away from his wife and kids, but he keeps doing it because it helps his family financially. He actually is pretty well off financially from what I hear because he is independent and is touring so much."You should only drink to enhance your social skills." -Barney GumbleComment

Bipolar, their album sounds better than the new demo recordings they have up on the myspace page. They are a great band though.
Resin has a good mix of heavier and mellow songs on their album. One of my favs is Innocence. Their album is well worth the $4.99 they charge on their page.
Seemless is pretty much a metal super-group. They are made up of founding members of some of the most prominent metal acts out today, including shadows fall and killswitch engaged.Comment

Re: Any unknown/unsigned bands you guys like?
It's kinda funny for me to hear people talk about him as unknown because around here he's HUGE. I've known of him and have been going to his shows for about 7 years now. Speaking of which, I haven't been to one in awhile, I need to make some plans.Comment

There is a band named Damone that is signed, though I'm not the biggest fan. I'm not sold on the vocals, but the music is awesome. It's a mix of thrash and punk.Comment

"Strata" is by far the best unknown I listen to. Probably my favorite band as well. I think a couple of guys on OS listen to them as well (eli?), and we all agree they are great. Give "When It's All Burning" and "In A Sweet Dream" a listen and you'll see what I mean. Eric Victorino (vocalist) has a fantastic voice, and also has a book out of poems and short stories, which I also highly recommend, called "Coma Therapy". Give them a listen. I know they had a song on Madden I believe in 04 or 05 called "Piece By Piece", which is a great, CATCHY rock song.Comment
